I really feel burnt out.
When I first got my internet, I remember that the first game I got into was runescape. Fkin runescape! It wasn't just any ordinary game to me. I got so into it, I actually played it for 3 years and for around 18 hours a day on it during holidays.
My parents got concerned and they took away my mouse so that I couldn't play. I got angry but eventually I got over runescape.
Then I got into Shattered Galaxy. I still find it one of the most awesome games that I've played. Even that didn't last. I would spend countless nights trying to level up fast and get super units and stuff but I just don't have that vibe anymore.
I also used to be really into WoW. It was quite a great game until Blizzard brought the concepts of viability and normalization into the game. But WoW was still fun. The raids were awesome.. the PvP was awesome. I missed 2 shotting mages and rogues in pre-TBC as a warrior.
Even that got really boring for me. So I got into starcraft.
Starcraft is a great game. I love the mechanics and the balance. Its great. But even that has gotten boring. I no longer find any need to play it anymore.
I feel like I'm at this point in my life where I feel I need to do more.
With that being said, I just got my enlistment letter into the military and its 9th Jan next year! So I guess that's something new. I'm not looking forward to it because I've heard stories in that place but I'm also looking forward to it because I need a change.
I've been taking guitar classes for almost 3 years but I suddenly feel like getting into it alot more. So I'm also getting a new guitar once my exams are over. Les Paul Standard!
But anyway, starcraft was fun.. I still will play it once in a while and the community is great. So much for plagu and leeboo. They were and always will be awesome!

Wheres the legend in this?

He is proclaiming himself the legend of burning out. Don't worry about it, it just means that there can't be more than one of him in play at the same time.

no wonder u burn out quicky if u play like 18 hours even if u only do that on holidays. Even progamers dont practice that much. Games keep being interesting if u play them in intervalls.

I was like you once. Playing starcraft and counterstrike to the point of suicide. All this on a 56k modem mind you.
now i don't feel the urge anymore. it's like i just got over a drug addiction. but i still like to watch games and read the news and stuff.
interesting times.

Of course you get bored when you play 24/7, that's for all hobbies and stuff, not just games.

Oh man, I too played Runescape all the time. I played it back when it consisted of 4 servers and was 2d. Game wasn't very popular back then. 3d came out years later and the game sucked after that. Stopped playing it. I had a lvl 67 haha. Ugh what a waste of time.

Thats why you gotta have multiples games going all the time. Its so easy to burn out playing only a single game with all your gaming time.
|
On a second note, Shattered Galaxy is awesome, I still play it now and then.

I don't know whats more sad: your joke or the fact that I understood it.

doing other activities is key so that you don't become burnt out. I keep trying to sneak in sc time whenever I can, and I can never get enough. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Saw the title and automatically thought about this:
It's a great game. One of the best arcadey games.

interesting times. A lot of kids are having adolescences like this these days. It's the wave of the future. It's changing societies and we haven't seen the effects yet. Technologies like gaming, cell phones, various web stuff and the like are making it infinitely easy to suck away all your time and make everything in reailty (nearly) pale in comparison in terms of gratification, which means that many psychologies will burn their lives to it as much as possible. Of course when they get used to it, then it's never enough. It's like crack.
So then they have a crisis, and then... who knows? But I think we all relate to this guy, that's why we're here.
