Introduction

So I decided to pick up this Flash simulator made by some Korean guy and figured, if all the best players of our time played in one tournament, who would win?

Groups

Using Hot_Bid's Starleague Evaluation and my own self-evaluation, I have assembled the best sixteen players Korea has shown us over the last eight years.

Group A
(T)NaDa
(P)Nal_rA
(P)GARIMTO
(T)Flash

Group B
(T)iloveoov
(Z)July
(P)Kingdom
(Z)Jaedong

Group C
(Z)sAviOr
(P)Reach
(P)Anytime
(P)Stork

Group D
(T)BoxeR
(Z)YellOw
(T)XellOs
(P)Bisu

Maps

The maps were chosen on the basis of Manifesto7's Final Edit, Celestial Terrain.
Since Rush Hour was not included in this simulator (I wish to update the simulator somehow to incorporate the TLPD into it... one day), I replaced it with the next highest ranked map.

Thus the maps chosen were;
Neo Requiem
Sin Peaks of Baekdu
Bifrost III
Ride of Valkyries

Here we go!

3 out of the top 4 are toss and iloveoov nowhere in sight? toss never had that kind of dominance (the only toss in the top 10 elo peaks is stork)
where are the golden mousers? july died of fats?
yellow>boxer?!?!

obviously its flawed because if you put real values indicative of players respective peaks, iloveoov would have taken the entire thing without losing

Well my theory is that players rise because they found a way to beat the best. So that would mean even in their prime, wouldn't the modern players win anyway?

SImulator is certainly subject to assumption and parameters. What are they in Flash one? Is Toss given more weight that it comes out with 3 tosses and how many times you simulated
otherwise, BIASED!!! I bet if you replicate the work it comes out entirely different. 4 Terrans hopefully XD
Why dont you try many times and compile the results
Economics forecast assumes everything, except responsibilities

This is reaaaaaally inaccurate imo. Garimto couldn't beat Flash and Nada without insane luck (this is assuming games were played in respective players primes), let alone make the finals over Jaedong.

If it was REAL (players skill was their skill during their prime):

1. Iloveoov
2. Savior
3. XellOs
4. NaDa maybe...

But in all honesty Garimto would get horribly raped, even in his prime, he wouldn't match up to many of those guys.

of course, but the whole idea is to compare players across eras and the only way to do that is to look at their abilities relative to their peers at the time.

keke, yeah cmon what kind of simulator is this? it has to give us VODs to prove who actually won.

loL, yellow > boxer. It makes sense that Nal rA should win, clearly teh simulator is rigged to honor his recent retirement.

Many of the old-school players dominated totally in their prime, but their actual skill level was inferior to some lesser players today. They were really smart, but didn't have the mechanics to keep up with today's players.

the only players I can see beating him are bisu and oov

Yea, the terrans really got the short end of the stick, especially the two highest ELO players. Reach's PvZ was always suspect, and Savior's zvp was impeccable.

The 3 protoss kings really made it farther than they should have. They've always had a tendency to be inconsistent.

Come think of it, Much is like the modern day Kingdom.

I would eventually open a thread finding people advanced in Flash to help me edit this simulator to suit todays standards.
