So its another season and another D+. I think this is the 2nd week of the new season. I feel its so hard. I know some games I am just doing very stupid stuff and throwing it away but most of my games [even some of my wins] have been very very close. I feel the skill level of ICCup went up and I'm only @ D+. I got C+ in Season 7 and then last Season I didn't play alot and got C-/C but I'm finding it very hard.
I think it's because I kinda took a 2 month break from serious playing. I'd play maybe 1-5 games a week and nothing more.
Anyways, I am 14-10 D+ 2075. I found the last 8 games kinda depressing. I can't make games at the moment and spamming in the channel takes a while so I join whatever game comes up. So I'd be playing Python [cause people keep making it] and winning and get 1995 and then lose 2 games and win 1 and lose 2 games and always be @ 1995. Its was tiring.
Anyways I am:
PvZ 3-3 (50%) [I always end up being around 40-50% in PvZ]
PvP 6-1 (86%) [I always start off strong in PvP but when I reach C-/C I go down to about 50-60% win rate in PvP]
PvT 5-6 (45%) [ I honestly think this is my worst Match-up. I suck against Terran. I suicide my army so much. I lose to pushes so easily and I can't micro Carriers at all. Actually if I go Carriers = Auto Loss for me lol. I end up either doing 1 of 4=5 things:
1) Playing normal and taking a 3rd in reply to their FE and macroing up and going for a late game. Sometimes I suicide my army to crack their 3rd and get really behind. I usually go Arbiters
2) I do some all-in 4 Gate goon garbage lol [this almost always fail]
3) I do a 1 Base reaver build and usually have horrible micro and lose my shuttle and the reaver lol
4) I do some 2 base mass zeal + goon + storm and try to rape their first push and then take an 3rd + 4th. This usually works 3 out of 5 times.
5) I DT Drop. I really like this build especially on python where you can take an island. Of course if they did some build like 2 fact vult or 4 vult drop then your usually screwed and that FD Rush usually comes before my dts come out. Anyways, I am working on it.
I hope I can get at least C+ this season. I hope I can makes games soon and that way in 3 hours I can play 10-12 games easily without having to search for games and play non-MOTW. I switched comps [as anyone will know if they read my previous blog] so whenever I configure a Static IP [so I can open my port in the router] then my internet stops working. I am working on that.

Congrats on getting D+! But I am a little confused about you only getting to play on python. I have a little more leeway than you in that I can host, but I have only played motw all season (only longinus and andromeda so far, actually) and have had *no* problem whatsoever getting games on those maps. If nobody joins my public game I just channel hop spamming "1:1 D+ Andromeda?" to every D+ until one answers and generally find a game very, very quickly. Haven't had issue one with getting motw games all season, and I've been D+ since the second day. o_O

its really early in the season. You shouldnt expect to do well right now. Wait a few weeks until the good players level up then things will get easier.

I will keep this in mind. Actually I usually give games to those people that spam everyone. I just wish I could make games. It would be alot easier.

Beginning of the new season is always hard. I got literally pummeled by some Korean Terrans and Zergs and I can't get anywhere right now. Just be patient, work on your builds and try..

I'm not even going to try for a good record this early. I'm playing on an anonymous practise account so I don't care about losing in the slightest and I'm actually seeking out matches vs very good players (often with my weakest mu) just so I can learn a few things. When the going gets easier halfway into the season, THEN I'll see what rank I can acheive.

dammit me and ahzz went 8-0 2v2 D+ 2100 pnts or so, then lost 1 game so we both reset because ahzz wants us to get to C- at least with 100% win record T_T

For PvT I recommend pyloning their wall area if you scout early enough so you can send some zealots up their grill, stealing their gas (twice), pyloning machine shop area, proxy DT tech or robotics/reaver tech, etc. You'll find that your win rate will skyrocket, maybe after the good people get out of the D,C range. I also find that fake upgrading Goon Range with Air Attack on Cybernetics Core until you kill scouting SCV is a good scam on Terran players.
Nice job getting to D+ in the beginning of the season though. To me that is a greater accomplishment then C- late in the season.

not sure if I've gotten better, but the start of last season was batshit fucking insane skillwise
this season it seems a lot more winnable, except when I play like a giant noob

except at least for me, you tend to get a lot less games in the D/D+ level at around that time

I feel like this season feels the same as the old seasons. Still sooooo much cheese. I've played 2 people that played very well and lost to one guy cheese.

Well I read it at least twice  but can't remember when and where, maybe search would do... I think one of sc2gg commentators or someone during TL Attacks said that even playing from East or West coast can mean those few hours when Koreans play or don't...???
