I just found out about this site, which is unfortunate, because I have used my main e-mail to sign up for a lot of shit over the years, and I receive approx. 500 spam e-mails a day. (G-Mail's spam filter is quite good luckily)

Basically, you click on the link on the site and it instantly gives you a username and an inbox. No signing up or anything. No password, just a ten minute e-mail address which expires after the time is up. If needed, you can click "I need 10 more minutes!" to make it last longer. Useful for registering wherever e-mail activation is required, without the risk.

Ha, sounds pretty useful Although it doesn't affect me the spam mail as it's just click and it's all gone, but this can be pretty cool when registering for stuff like iccup, i mean i only have so many emails :/

Aren't sites going to learn to systematically ban these types of e-mails? Or is it smart and prevents that? Well either way it probably works for the time being...

You can type asdioghsdoi@sda.com for an email. Lol iCCup doesn't require you to use your own email, or to go finalize registration in your email o__o;

EDIT: But yeah, this looks very very useful~ Thanks ^___^;

This is so useful for all those crappy websites that make you use your email address just so that you can read their article online. Many websites enforce you to give them your emails but usually most of them aren't worth giving your emails to them. So this is very pimp site and thanks for posting.

There's also trash-mail.com or mytrashmail.com
I always use that for unimportant registrations where I most likely won't visit again. But some sites check the entered address if you typed in such a mail host (trash-mail.com is already well-known I think), and then they won't allow you to register until you change it.

Second best method is to have a second "real" mail account which you always use for trash, so you don't have to care about spam filling your inbox there.

What? You'd make an e-mail address that lasts for 10 minutes just so you can sign it up for beastiality pornography simply to be able to say that you signed up for it? Or am I missing something

I have another real e-mail account that is specifically designed for junk emails. It's full of random junk email, but because its my junk email place I don't check anything or have to delete anything.

Nice find OP btw, may come in handy one day..

I just use mailinator.com, if you just use your own little system you can use the recovery password function if need be.

As MiniRoman said, mailinator's been fine for me.

Sign up with anything@mailinator.com, go to www.mailinator.com and login for the registration email or whatever. Obviously bad for privacy - anyone can login and read the spam. So pretty useful unless you care about who reads your spam.

Looks like 10 minute mail has the advantage that the domain switches periodically, so it's less likely to be blocked. However, you can't decide your own name, so it's less believable if you are handing out an email to a person. But then again, people should be able to recognize mailinator.com, too... and this stuff is limited to 10 minutes. What if I am expecting an email in a day? Mailinator would be nicer for that.

God I have way too much time to be comparing temp email services.

Mailinator actually has a privacy option now:

What are "Alternate Inbox Names" ?

There are 2 ways to get email into any given inbox. When you check an inbox, listed at the top is the Alternate Inbox name. Emailing that alternate name is the same as emailing the regular name of the inbox. For example, the alternate name for "joe" is "M8R-yrtvm01" (all alternate names start with "M8R-").

Thus, you can email joe@mailinator.com OR M8R-yrtvm01@mailinator.com - either way, the email will arrive in the "joe" inbox (and nothing into the M8R-yrtvm01 inbox). What's more, there is no way to guess an an alternate name. If you give out the alternate, only YOU will be able to check the emails because only you know the original inbox name.

In short, pick yourself a nice, long, and hard-to-guess mailinator name - and then give out the alternate. People can email you but can't read your email !

In order to save my server from the crushing spam, I've swapped out the e-mail domain to fificorp.com, and then fificorp.net, and will continue to swap out the e-mail domain on a regular basis. This will serve two purposes. One, it will save my server from dying under the flood of spam. Two, it will keep admins who block registrations by domain on their toes at least once a month.

Doesn't that cause quite a bit of confusion though for people who use address@fificorp.net and then it suddenly switches and work can't get done?

10 Minute Mail is a convenient tool for those tired of spam. It provides a temporary email address, valid for 10 minutes, to use for sign-ups requiring email verification. No registration or password needed. Just click, get an inbox, and extend if necessary.
