As for brawl, it is not technically as demanding melee is. The mindgames are more pronounced, though, so if you enjoy that type of fighting, then it is really fun. I prefer brawl because if you match up someone who mechanically isn't as good as the opponent, as long as they are smart enough they can overcome the deficit. It's kind of backwards from melee. Before, you had to learn and be able to perform advanced techniques to even have a chance to compete. Now, it's whoever has the best meta-games/mind games will win, with techniques coming in second to help enforce the point. Whether or not this state of being will last, I do not know. People are working their hardest to find new combos and glitches to help give them the edge. Right now there is nothing too game changing, but who knows what might be found. Dedede's chainthrow is the closest thing to anything melee had to offer. Gamers who used to be super sick in melee are having a hard time using their brains again since if you could wavedash and l-cancel you could beat 90% of the population. It's fun to me to see who really was good and who just practiced the same combos over and over again. The better players are adapting. Here are my top picks right now, listed in no special order: Dedede (hello chainthrow) Pikachu (downsmash/down b combo is too sick) Kirby (just all around solid with a good recovery/spike) ROB (long range, excellent air game) Snake (I have yet to see an unbeatable snake, but i feel he has potential to be just that) Diddy Kong (the combo king with his bananas) and MAYBE Sonic (if you can control his speed) | ||
