what's your major? politics?

Yeah, Poli Sci with a concentration in Public Policy. If I really push it I could double major in Philosophy or History but I see no point in doing it, so I'll just finish my requirements and set myself up to travel abroad.

That would be a horrible load of classes for me lol.
My courses:
CT-210A-01 EMERING TECH FOR TEACH & LEARN
(Part time grad student lol)
Schedule: Saturday 09:30 am-02:00 pm 09/06-10/11
|
I worked my ass off last year and thought I'd take it easy for this quarter. I mean really easy.
Phil 100A: History of Greek Philosophy Phil 154: Topics in Value Theory: Rationality and Action Phil 172: Philosophy of Language and Communication
14 hours of classes a week. Fridays off, which works out nicely with blizzcon. Going to have too much time with this schedule, so planning to pick up a tutoring job as well.
Edit: Btw, my school is on quarter system, so 3 courses isn't that bad. It is probably the equivalent of 4 classes on the semester system.
|
Intro to Sociology Ethics Western Civilization Survey of the Arts Physical Anthro (gay biology requirement is gay) Globalization (The world's nations) Forensics
I took all the class relevant to my majors (lit journalism and IR) so now is my 5th semester taking lower div CC courses. One of the advantages of going to a CC is you can take your time exploring different majors. before I decided on my current majors, I was taking modern physics ;(.
and so we're fucking clear: i'm bragging

Looking forward to it!

I graduated earlier this year :D

ECE 430 Digital Communications ECE 371 Microcomputer Interfacing ECE 380 Electromagnetics ENGL 314 Technical Writing MUSIC 362 Symphonic Band MUSIC 369 Symphony Orchestra
5th semester electrical engineering (taking some classes ahead and out of order). It's not so difficult other than the fact that nobody's gotten an A in digital communications in several semesters. Music classes help to fulfill requirements for two different scholarships but aren't counting towards any sort of graduation requirement.

currently taking: Organic Chemistry lab, General Physics Lab, and Early American History :@
Fall: Genetics, Genetics Lab, Medical Microbiology, Independent Research (not sure why it's called independent, because it's anything but that). Also taking a "intro to bio" lab, but I'm in the middle of a "petition of exception" to get out of the requirement for it, so hopefully not.

It's USYD, Bachelor of Design Computing.
That said, I wouldn't recommend this as a course if you wanted to get into games design. It's more graphic design and web oriented, though the course I'm doing atm is them trying to change their focus to Human-Computer Interaction.
You'd be much better going to the few colleges in Australia that offer game design/related courses, there are a few in Melbourne, 1 in canberra and 1 in Brisbane iirc. Apparently QANTM opened a college in Sydney too now (They used to be in Brisbane, I was originally gonna go there after my HSC, but decided to stay in Sydney instead thinking that my course would be as useful. Which it isn't, but I regret nothing as I found out there was something I enjoyed more).
All that said, from what I gathered when I was still actively trying to pursue a career in the industry, your portfolio is of equal or greater importance to your degree/tertiary education level.

Four courses a semester OP? Oh Jesus, you must be one of those people that plans on saying they went to university for 4 years (neglecting to mention they took a 3 year degree).

1st semester at Gerogia Tech Computational Media major (game design thread)
Pre-Calculus Intro Media Computation (working with the language python) Psychology Literature 101- (all my books have to do with argument and debate, no standard curriculum at GT, so all teachers have totally different classes) GT 1000- Introduction to Computational Media
My schedule is kind of lame this semester, but next year I get to take a lot more cool game design focused classes.

Hmm, I was planning to defer my first year to do some work with TL.net and/or other e-Sport sites. I guess that would kind of help?
EDIT: Qantm looks pretty good. I was thinking of going to UW but I don't want to do the Comp Sc. course.

Hum...
French Conversation (guess we just speak French for a few hours per week in class) French Analysis (the actual class) Poetry (upper div lit) East Asian Political Thought (upper div poli sci) Senior Honors Seminar (for poli sci dept) International Law and Organizations (upper div poli sci)
That's at UCSD , Poli Sci major, (2nd year there, senior status ftw)
Also, going to be taking Mechanics (physics) at local community college few nights per week.

It originally was, but they felt sorry for us, so they pushed it to 2B. But they still kept it interesting in the sense that now we have to take 3 labs instead of 2 (because they pushed the Mat Sci lab from 1B).
