A few friends and I had gotten onto the DClone IRC channel, and had found out on which IP address Diablo Clone would be walked later that day. We kept individually joining and leaving private games in an attempt to get a game that was on the same IP that would be walked; we'd then wait for the walk and each end up with a shiny new Annihilus.
I would make a game, check the IP, kill Hell Mephisto, and leave until I got the right IP address. While killing Hell Mephisto I found two Arachnid's Web belts, each worth about seven high runes at the time, which was a lot, about three runs apart, followed closely by a 5%ll Bul Katho's ring. Eventually I found the right IP, DClone walked, and I got a shiny new Annihilus to boot.
I had a Kicksin that could rape ubers and bosses with the same efficiency as a smiter, a Hammerdin and an Orb sorc for magic finding, a Bone necromancer for duels (back when synergy glitches existed and you could add thousands of damage to bone spear/spirit), and my favorite character, a Plague javazon capable of doing 100k poison damage (over around 30 seconds, but still, it was nuts).
This Javazon was equipped with Enigma, for teleportation purposes, a Dream helmet, for Holy Shock, and a Call to Arms bow on switch. I would use the CTA for Battle Orders/Command, enter the duel, and hit the opponent with one poison cloud, at which point I would teleport away like a motherfucker. Eventually he'd realize he was at one hp, at which point I'd switch to my bow and start unloading guided arrows at him; if they didn't work, the Holy Shock from my helmet killed him anyways.
Shit that was fun.

My friends and I also ran a leveling business where we'd level other people's characters up to 80 (took about a day) and get 20 bucks or so per job.
Too bad Diablo eventually turns people into monsters, willing to sell out their friends for a SoJ.Fuck that game~!
