And what are the most famous MMORPGs? The other thing im curious about is that which progamer is smoking nowadays? There was a thread about it long ago, but its expired a bit. Sure ~ I've not been to any of the Halo/WoW events yet, but I'm definitely planning to. I'll also be covering Sudden Attack Master League when possible just for fun. I've been to Kart Rider several times now and the atmosphere is totally different to SC events - it's alot more relaxed than even proleague (which can get pretty crazy at times depending on the teams attending it.) Most of the other esports in S.Korea are smaller scale (actually come to think of it all of them are.) and the turn out from fans is alot smaller too so most of their popularity comes from online access. Currently the main games also shown on OGN/MBC which seem pretty wide spread in their popularity are Maplestory, Sudden Attack, Special Force, Halo 3 and Lineage 2. Sudden Attack even has a current league for women which is shown during the week. I'm not too knowledgable about anything beyond SC live events ~ but I'm going to expand the number of events I go to so I'll keep everyone posted if there are any major developments in esports aside from SC. I haven't seen anyone at SC, but I know most of the Kart Rider players are smokers (no Moon Hojoon is not lol.)

I met the Estro team for the first time on Sunday at proleague. I've only spoke to Goodfriend briefly backstage (just to say hello.) whilst I was photographing the team chowing down on McDonalds and chatting. I didn't take alot of photos of him, but I'll be covering Estro again later this season ^^. Here's a (slightly blurry lol) shot of him I took before the matches began; (I'll be uploading my other photos from the event tomorrow night.)

I used to prefer the smaller setting of the MBC Hero Centre because I hadn't actually visited Yongsan until I began attending Kart Rider events this month. However, now I prefer Yongsan - the lighting is better for photos, there are more fans attending and it's connected to a much less crowded mall so it's more fun to go earlier and just relax before doing the photos for a report. Having said that - Coex still has a good atmosphere - because all the fans are in a small space (and often know eachother) it has a rather cozy atmosphere. During fan meets the players often just come out and sit down on the benches with their fans.

Especially seen as the photographers I see at live events all work for Korean websites so our photos don't really end up in the same places. I see the people from Fomos, Fighterforum and i'm friends with one of the MyDaily photographers (who is a lovely guy.) - Tbh I'm still learning myself. Personally my best tip is to photograph something you're passionate about - landscapes, animals - anything as long as you enjoy it. I think it enhances your enthusiasm and creativity. It's definitely a good first step to expanding out into areas of picture-taking you might not feel so comfortable with (I'm not good with landscapes, but I love photographing people.) Also research what equipment suits the types of photographs you're looking to take. When I was deciding upon my current lens I chose something (with the help of my camera club friend.) that was decent for low lighting (like they have in some parts of the MBC Hero Centre.) and action shots (for all those ceremonies.) - The freebies. Hahaha....well aside from those free CJ cheese sticks. I love seeing the fans working together to support their favourite players and teams - they make an amazing atmosphere at times and all the emotion of SC for both fans and players is something I love photographing. - I took some pictures of FBH after his match at the Proleague 2007 Grand Finals. They were with my older lens though (so they were rubbish) and out of respect for him I decided not to share them. I don't mind capturing the sentiments of the players and fans, but I feel there are times when you should put your camera down and allow them to have personal moments without contributing to the attention focused upon them.

I could read hangul (just about) due to a friend teaching me at uni, but other than that I knew nothing. There are some great books for studying including Arirang's Korean Basics which I've bought since I got here ^^.
