I was taught by a 2000+ FIDE when I was 7-12 y. old (may be wrong about rate tho)
not practising that hard since then...
I'm not a good player, have no rating, but maybe 2000+ @ instantchess is ok?

You may join ICC (Internet Chess Club), I remember the fees for students somewhat reasonable. After joining, you can extend your membership by winning the trivia quiz there.
Otherwise, I think it is possible to join playchess.com via an older Fritz version, though I have been told those are more prone to lag.
I would love to play you again sometimes, unfortunately school is taking the better part of me and I have become severly addicted to lightning chess ^^

If you've registered an account at playchess, you can just login and click "cancel" on the activation key part. You're on there with "limited functionality" but you can still play games/get a rating and do the majority of what you need.
