Anyways, I live in Sweden, atm in Luleå (really far north oO) and it's shitty cold here during winters >< -30ish easy.. 23 years old, studying civil engineer mediatechnique within sound and music. (litteraly translated.. -_-) 2.5 years to go.. ><
So! My first blog ever, on any site.. this will be about my trip to London to see an amazing ska-punk band called Less Than Jake! I really hope some of you have heard of them, otherwise.. you've missed out :O They were playing 6 nights in a row, each night performing a different record.. We were 5 guys from Sweden staying for 5 nights at Piccadilly Backpackers hotel in London and we went to three of their shows.
The concerts were insane and absolutely worth every fracking penny we spent on the trip! We saw the Hello Rockview, Losing Streak and Pezcore albums and I've never been sweating that much in one weekend before in my entire life! DAMN it gets hot in the crowd >< First night I thought I would die from dehydration :< Also, we stayed in a 6bed room at the hotel, that means we got one random dude staying with 5 crazy swedes. Fortunately, over the 5 days we stayed, we got 1 hot chick (who left the morning after we arrived so we never got to talk to her.. but we got a look at her when she left atleast ^^) and 2 awesome Australian backpackers. After going to three concerts and sweating like that, with no aircondition in the room whatsoever, we hung our "concert clothes" in the room's only window. I'm so happy the australian guys were cool with the room smelling like someone died in there >< very nice guys.. ^^
London though, no offense Londoners ^^, sucked imo :O The opening hours (for nightlife stuff) were worse than in northern Sweden (and we have shitty hours) Absolutely horrible for a capital city oO When we landed we almost got run over by a car because we didn't look the right direction when crossing the street.. ;| guess that was our own fault tho, even says on the road which way to look ^^; And in all fast-food places there were indian ppl working and trying to cheat you on money all the time >< I forgot my jacket at subway and when I got back the dude that worked in the shop wanted 30% of the jacket cost to give it back to me wtf O_O thought he was joking but he dragged it out for like 5-10min before he finally gave me the jacket..
At another shop we were bying beer and a sign said "Two packs stella, £10" so we thought "fine, let's take two then", got to the counter, indian guy again, said "£12 please.." "um, no it says two for £10.." then he goes over to the beershelf, removes the sign, goes back to the counter and throws it in the garbage and says "no more offer.. £12 please" wth?!?! so, as far as I got to see, London didn't impress me at all.. but LTJ is still the best band in the world!! :D
Any ska-punk or punk-rock lovers out there? I'd kill to see Reel Big Fish and Less than Jake on tour (toured US together this summer >< damn europe)
Allright, that was my first blog entry oO Here's a youtube from the concert! I crowd-surfed for the first time in my life, amazing and really scary at the same time.. I just tried not to kick ppl in the head >< was great tho, enjoy!
