Sometimes it takes a while before you notice the benefits you are receiving from practicing... but yeah the key is to diversify your strategies for improving. Don't do exclusively one thing... play games, watch the replays, watch other replays, review replays with your gosu friends, watch vods, read strategy threads, get a practice partner who also is interested in diversifying his attempts at getting better, etc.For me it comes in spurts. Like, I'll see no improvement for a couple months, then over like 1 or two weeks i become noticeably better. Don't quit till its not fun anymore!!

5% talent, 95% practice. They practice for hours and hours and study the flaws in their game. Unless you are willing to do such things, you'll never get better. Take my game, for example. I started competitive Starcraft about a year ago. I played lots of pubs, and all of them were PvT. I lost every fucking game. Like literally. You could send like 10 Vultures and 10 Tanks and probably rape me easily. I watched Nal_rA and Reach replays, turned off the Terran's vision, and turned on FPPlay (from BWL before) and saw what they were clicking, what they were making, and why they did such and such. By watching these, I started to gain a feel for PvT and how the Protoss was supposed to fight, how to expand, etc. Nowadays, I've improved greatly in PvT, as well as my other matchups. But had I just wished for a better game instead of acting and practicing, I would be as bad as I was before. But as other people say, go to school and study. Much better than BW
