Hello,
Does anyone know anything about Tourettes Syndrome or does anyone have tics?
I have tics, well when I was 18-23 I had nothing and I didn't think about it, but the last years it has been fluctuating and now they are coming back with a vengeance. I just feel some motion in my body and that I have to twitch the muscle where I feel "it".
Also this disturbs my ability to concentrate.
No silly remarks please.
Does anyone know anything about this, and what to do?
Edit: If you would meet me irl you wouldn't probably not notice since I can hide it well until I am alone...

I would recommend reading An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks. It contains 7 short stories, but one of them deals with a surgeon that has tics all the time, except when he's in the surgery room.
Quite an interesting story.

tourettes' symptoms tend to decrease as you get older, i'm not sure what's happening to you
the most obvious thing to do is to go to a doctor, hoping that it's not a sign of some serious neurological problem

Intrigue, yes well I've also read that tics come and go. I mean, at many times in my life I haven't had tics at all, at least they haven't bothered me.
Yea, I will go see a doctor and ask more about Tourettes. I guess I should be happy not yelling "cock" randomly....lol.
Well...I quit BW some days ago since I felt kind of addicted to it and it took up too much of my free time and I felt I could be doing other stuff.
If I was younger (I'm 28 now) I would probably still play, but I think I should focus on school 100%.
I realize that's not an excuse for not being on IRC though;) But I've been busy with school, partying and so forth.
I will be back though, rest assured.

Go check a doctor man. Who knows could be something more serious, like a slight case of Parkinson's. Whateva it is, check it before it worsens. And most importantly pray !

Yeah, I remember watching a Korean program about Tourette's syndrome; the guy was incapable of stopping himself from cursing. It was so weird how such a nice guy suddenly cursed and was apologizing so much 
To cope with it he carries a roll of duct tape so he can tape his mouth if his tic starts to act up
