I was operated last wednesday, they removed 50 cm of my small intestine as well as a section of the large (at least that's what I understood.) Before the operation they put something in my back called an Epidural in french, it was supposed to help against the pain the following days but it didn't work. I spent thursday and friday in alot of ouch but finally they hooked me up to a morphine dispenser and it relieved me. It was a little strange though. I would close my eyes without realizing and I would still see the room around me. Then I would open them and be surprised to find that they had been closed.
The thing I enjoyed the least was having a tube about the size of my pinky finger coming out of le wang for 5 days. It made going to the crapper (already a less then enjoyable experience for me) really horrible. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not able to shit without pissing at least a little, bah...
I was starting to get pretty good at eating hospital food by the end. It's a skill that will surely serve me in the real world as well. One annoying thing was the nurses waking me up during the night a bunch of times to give me antibiotics. I had crazy dreams all the time too.
Right now I feel quite well, but I am damn weak. I hurts to walk and I have trouble opening bottles. I am skinny and have stitches on my stomach. My arm is so covered in scotch tape marks from all the times they took blood tests and replaced my intravenous I will take a picture of it as a souvenire. I also have 5 different pills to take for up to 6 months to remind me of my experience.
Hopefully in a few weeks time I will be running around and whatnot, but untill then it is good to be back home
