EPTThe 3 instrumentsi play right now are the violin, the viola, and the alto sax. I play violin for orchestra, the sax for band, and viola for technique.
I actually started out hating music because of my mom. She listens to nothing but classical. If she hears rock, she gives people that face that gives the impression that classical > all. Its fucking annoying listening to classical music for 14 years, and Apple is my new savior with the invention of the iPod. Unfortunetly, my parents like to double-ditch on a lot of things, the main one being technology.
I needed a phone at the same time, and the iPhone wasnt out yet so they got me a Moto SLVR. Nice phone, but only with a 128 mb card that holds 25 songs tops. I got a 512 card from Circuit City, but its running out fast and theres only 50 songs in there.
Going on, Im getting really pissed at my parents. My brother doesnt count cause he doesnt do anything musically anyways, but my dad has a f---ing horrible voice and my mom....shes in a different catagory herself.
Shes the one that made me hate music in the first place. I like it now, but i hate classical with all my heart. Its so fucking annoying and digs a deep hole in my gut just listening to her say:
"no your rhythms wrong" , "no thats the wrong note" , "no thats the wrong key" , "come back here and play Bach again" , etc etc.
Whats even worse, she wants to play along with me. I hate this even more, cause she does not adjust to me; i have to adjust to her speed and tempo. When i start jamming out by myself, she starts yelling all of that in the above paragraph. Then she sits down at the piano and starts playing it like how its "supposed" to sound.
I feel like a fucking toddler when she plays notes with that sense that u are inferior to her and u must follow her way.
It just makes me hate how see just says all this stuff and its so annoying that i have to play everything over and over while trying to some interest in it. On top of that, she says half of it in chinese, which makes me feel like a fucking FOB.
I try to piss her off in many different ways, from playing the music the wrong way on purpose to going super super fast and saying "im done, no repeats, im gone". I cant exactly refuse, cause then she just bitches at me the whole day and thats bad for my ears too.
Remember how i told u how she hates everything but classical? I chose the sax instead of the clarinet just to piss my mom off so she cant make me play classical. Turns out she got a whole bunch of love songs for my sax and told me to play it.
So now, she is annoying the hell out of me because she is threatening to take my phone away if i dont put classical music on my phone (wastes so much space...).
Yea and about my dad, try to picture a skinny azn guy that speaks entrying to sing gospel music o.0
So, basically i like different kinds of music that piss my mom off, loud enough to drown out any lectures that might be given to me, and definetly entertaining enough to listen to over and over.
If u guyz can give me any suggestions, that would be really appreciated.
