I've been learning music since I was 13 and after 5-7 years, I was confident enough in my instrument to make music and post them online. Back then, many people had told me that my voice wasn't suitable for singing, sometimes in very polite and nice ways, sometimes bluntly, but with the caring love of a sincere friend (they didn't want me to be delusional).
So I looked up some singing videos and practiced only what appeared to be the most useful exercise out of the many other ones for a while and eventually got lazy :D
I sang a lot when I'm in the shower and when I was driving alone in the car, which are times where I can shout and shriek those high notes terribly without causing damage to anybody's hearing and mental health. After many years of this. I think I'm finally able to produce something that's still not yet perfect, but it's a product that I'm satisfied enough with ^^
PS: I'm from Malaysia so naturally my French is a bit off. This just happened to be one of the songs I am singing a lot lately haha.
I am open to all comments that would aide me in my journey of self-improvement. Thank you for listening!
Good job man, I’ve never managed to coordinate playing guitar and singing at the same time. Think we collaborated many years ago in my attempt to crowd source a BW Terran theme cover with TLers before my general organisational incompetence got in the way!

Hey! I remember those simpler times! I understand it was a tough project and it would tough to accommodate everyone (e.g. if my take sucked it's not easy for you to deal with it without potentially making me feel angry) ^_^
I've a lot more to learn and thanks for the support!

I think I have the take sitting around in some hard drive somewhere, iirc don’t think any takes sucked just the project was way more effort than I had originally thought and my free time became way more limited than I expected!
Is the last guitar note supposed to be almost mute?
@singing: I mean you don't sound like Devin Townsend, but I don't think you intend to and sound perfectly fine to me. People have weird standards for singing where unless you are a professional singer that has spent 2/3rds of his life with vocal training or are autotuned with 42 distortions in the background they will call you a shitty singer.
Pretty much like with drawing, you are either a person who puts 8 hours every day for a decade into it and then get labelled as "talented" or you are supposedly terrible. I wouldn't take such criticism to heart, you are doing fine and I know from experience how distracting singing and playing at the same time is.

Keep it up man
Aha I see. I imagine dealing with so many submissions and coming up with a mix is not easy (mixing our own music is hard enough). Thanks! for the support and good luck with your projects!

Good Luck and may you meet appreciation and respect at each new door you open.
Cheers.
Hey man I recognise your username although we haven't interacted much personally. Thank you for your kind and well thought out words ^__^

Wow, I appreciate your attentiveness, do you also play music? To answer your question, it was a slided chord (sounded with the left hand only, without hitting the strings with the right hand) so naturally its more difficult to get a slided note to sound loud on a nylon guitar. However, when done played better, the last slided chord should sound louder, less muffled and clearer. I just didn't execute it well :D
Yeah I was bad (I'm still bad now compared to where I want to be hahaha), it was the truth that I was below an satisfactory threshold, but somehow people think that many artistic skills have to come from talent and not hard work. No one would ever tell a child that he should quit learning maths because he was bad at it, but they'd tell the child to practice more and put in more time if he is naturally less talented at maths. Just like Starcraft, it's a constant learning process

Thanks man! I am a perfectionist and I'm very critical of myself (I believe that being critical is the path to improvement) and I thought that I needed to scrap this take after listening to the original version :
