Goodbye to Voltacus

Today we say farewell to a coach, friend and Duckling through and through, Voltacus.

Voltacus had been a part of the Ducklings community long before he joined the Cranky Ducklings, encouraged to play in SDO by our own sister-clan Psionic Aftermath. Though he'd get the Caerwyn Curse(TM) and get promoted to Masters before winning one. Volt got a glimpse into Cranky and decided he liked it, subbing to the twitch channel to experience Milk's dojo and even provided his own insight and coaching before joining us.

Unfortunately, after picking him up we couldn't give him many opportunities to compete in team leagues on account of being Masters, but we were transparent on that from the beginning and he settled into a coaching role alongside Milk. Professor Voltacus' dreaded, but often fruitful, lectures on cheese defense, drops and of course his favourite, Defeat in Detail helped us all improve a great deal and led to victories in JSL, VSL and VTL. In a more indirect way, Volt contributed to one of Cranky's more unique quirks, our Monthly Reports and Clan Updates by encouraging myself (Yakuzaku) to write the first Power Rank at a time when I felt very insecure about my writing, which of course led to my role in Cranky today. He cited, "If you have an idea, don't let it go to waste." We're aware of some of Volts plans and ambitions to contribute to the scene and wish him the best moving forward and he's always welcome for a visit to the pond.
