This blog is a brag blog, it is a battle report and it is the OMGOMGOMG Eywa- reached 1900 MMR on ladder blog! This isn't some elaborate plan on how I conned blizzard into giving me free MMR, I actually played and legitimately reached 1900 MMR! Without further a do, let's jump right into the battle report. Here is the game who put me over the edge.
Introducing the villain of our story, Ser Kong, you see, Kong plays Zerg and he thinks he's more cool and capable because he puts SC at the end of his name like so "KongSC". Well Mr. Kong, Judgement day has come. (Spawning in the bottom right as the brown Zerg)
In the top left hand position is the protagonist of this story, the always humble, never defeated... EywaSC. Now, I knew the moment this game began that I was going to be victorious, yellow Protoss is my jam. (Spawning in the bottom left)
So, I started the game with the mentality of, I think my PvZ is pretty good, I'll just go for a standard forge fast expand and not forget storm. No cheese required (I secured the 1800 via cheese because it was a Protoss and I wondered if I would ever secure 1800 if I fell in that game... My confidence back in the day...)
Unfortunately, I did not scout my opponent, not first nor second... So there goes the prospect of 12 nexus...
Our opponent, Ser KongSC went for the 12 hatch... I had to think fast in order to avoid myself getting put in a disadvantageous position. But wait... His overlord is just out of position...
I then proceeded to scout the main, this is an important step while waiting for the pylon to finish, our opponent suspects nothing! Now, on with the cannons!
The hatchery finishes! KongSC now only has a matter of seconds to react to the economic damage that he is about to suffer... Tensions rising. The spawning pool is complete, he must rush out some Zerglings! Meanwhile, I just transitioned into my standard fast expand... Cannons at your opponent's natural count! It's not cheese!
The siege begins... KongSC rushing out with the Zerglings!
OH NO! The first two Zerglings down the ramp seem to have been poorly rallied, they are down for the count!
Meanwhile, KongSC is cutting his losses by taking a 3rd base in the top right position Natural. Eywa- continues to transition into a standard macro build.
With a cannon... Can't be too careful.
I actually have no idea how much of effect this had if any, but it looks kind of cool! Eywa- builds a forge to block off the lings, forcing them to funnel on either side.
The Zerglings fail to break the cannons...
Meanwhile, with a keen focus on the breakout, KongSC neglected his scouting overlord! Oh my, I hope this doesn't supply cap the zerg at 15/9 (it did, it totally did)
Time to tech up! ... And scout while the cannon still holds strong.
KongSC breaks out, defeating the lone cannon to stop the initial Zealot. The supporting wave is pushed back as well.
I'm preparing to macro up, while the Zerg takes his 4th base.
Moving out again... A Dragoon is lost, but as he tries to snipe a second, KongSC loses the micro battle and most of his lings. Meanwhile, I've been pumping the reinforcements.
EMERGENCY DEFENSES, but it's too late! Now the Sim City is turning against him! Reinforcements seal the deal.
It's all academic now. Preparing the attack on the natural, taking out the 4th.
Kong Prepared his defenses as best he could, stashing away some Zerglings.
But the Protoss just pushes through! (EMERGENCY LURKERS)
A valiant effort from Kong, but the Protoss are too many.
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
SIGH, I started writing this earlier today, then I hit 2k this evening, which kind of completely fucked my blog post unless I wanted to do 2 of them, which I didn't, but luckily I was pushed back down to 1900! So, we can save the official 2k blog for another time! (Also, what the fuck, I reached 2k!)
