EPTI've been playing BW for quite a while now and while I wasn't winless, all of my victories were either ling all-ins, lurker busts, ZvZs or my opponent just falling apart before my hive even finished.
I had especially tons of trouble vs toss. My timings were never crisp enough and I usually would be underdroned going into the midgame, with P players just amoving handful of zealot and storming whatever lurkers and lings I had morphing.
HOWEVER, TODAY
for the first time ever I got my scourge in time to chase away first sair before it even got close to an OL. I saw my opponent go sair/reaver so I decided to make 3 or 4 mutas with scourge and delay the hydra switch to stop him from ever getting the shuttle close to my base (it worked too!). When enemy kept massing sairs, I switched to hydras, took a 4th base and busted his building 3rd and then this natural. Felt pretty good.
Then for the next 15 minutes I kept killing myself on reaver/goon/HT like a cretin.
Anyway this isn't a tl;dr of 150apm adventures, long story short I spammed ultra/crackling and even casted a swarm once when he attacked my natural with goons and spellcasters.
I just wanted to say that it's super ecstatic to finally see yourself improve just a bit, have better army control, crisper BO, a bit better macro. Much more cool. And see the results.
It's fucking amazing. No other feeling can match winning a hard-fought BW gmaes.
