Now it's a bit more serious than just matchmaking (practice mondays and tuesdays on esl/faceit, etc...), but thats not what we aimed for when playing with you anyway :p It'd be cool to play together again, hopefully the guys have time to MM the rest of the week once in a while! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I never pay attention to the blog section but Rag told me you were coming back so i read this and it was pretty depressing to be honest :p I don't think you should feel ashamed though, you can't fail if you don't try. At least you're back in a more satisfying environment, to move on forward, hopefully ![]() As for doto, you don't owe people those guides. If you're not in the proper state to work on them, you should not force yourself to do it. People who bitch about that are the same who unfollow streamers because they played a different game for 30 minutes. Theres literally nothing you can do to please that part of any community and you should ignore them. The ones criticizing/insulting you ingame are just as retarded around unknowns, but instead of random general flame they use your work to get to you. That doesn't make it more meaningful because they're fucking stupid wether it is towards you or towards someone else. "I report someone for flaming or criticizing me on a personal level and someone told me that I would have to get used to it as I become more and more recognized." I don't know if you ever completly get used to something like that but heres 2 ways of handling it that you can consider. 1. The "i don't give a fuck" attitude. So Torte de Lini actually sucks at doto, backseats everyone that didn't read his guides and likes sushi? (seriously i hate all raw food) He still brought more to this community than most of you, deal with it :p Now you don't sound like the type who'd be able to do this, so on to number 2! 2. The Day9 attitude. Basically what i try to do as often as possible : ignore meanies :D As noname i obviously don't have my personnal flock of haters, but at least ignoring non-constructive feedback and ingame dumbasses wil seriously help you. By ignoring i don't mean mute the guy and try to cope with what he just said. I mean erasing what you've just read from your mind completly and refocus on whatever you were doing. Doesn't matter if it stings at first, doesn't matter if it takes a while to refocus, at least you're not making your day worse by imagining all the bad things that dude could post on reddit. It's a sometimes unresponsible (i think JourNeuf is pretty extreme on that) but often necessary way of handling negativity. I used to waste so much time of my life arguing, rethinking about some dumb thing that was said somewhere on the internet by someone who might not even have been serious... Surprise surprise i can tell you it wasn't worth it :p That's a lot of rambling on internet trolls, looks like they still indirectly make me waste time :D :D :D WELCOME BACK PASTA and write those useless guides whenever you damn want, i don't care i don't play doto :D :D :D

I can't believe your ping still sucks balls! But don't worry, I've moved on to the MP-7 now and will continue to handicap the team with bad ideas and shitty smoke executions! I've failed a lot in terms of being with a company that's succeeded while I worked there, but I think this is specific situation - I didn't walk away feeling like I achieved anything, just simply lost a bit of myself searching for something that wasn't there. Even took me longer to find work than usual (few months). Thanks for the advice on how to deal with trolls and just overly-critical people. It's true that they use my work to flame/critique me as opposed to something else if I was relatively unknown. I somehow knew that for other more talented and recognized/iconic people, but never actually applied it to myself. Good point. I think when it comes to the guides, I know that I don't owe anyone anything, but I also hate wasting the opportunity to follow-through when someone depends on me. I appreciate the help! I'm anxious to get settled in the EU, I prefer getting flamed racially than personally hahahahahahah

That's actually a very strong feeling. At a waaaaaaaay smaller scale than your guides, I experienced that for the CSGO twitter account I ran. I couldn't get this project to where I wanted it to be, and thought of stopping/pausing it for some time, but because of the people that actually liked it and continued to interact with it, I kept it running for far longer even though I wanted to pause it for various reasons.

Glad you left with more than you went with (including experiences). That Egypt trip looks awesome - a few friends have gone but their pictures didn't capture what yours did. As someone who also doesn't gamble I think Vegas is nice to see once but it's one of the last places I'd vacation. (For someone that doesn't like the heat you sure saw some deserts!) Good luck on the next chapter!

These past few months have been relaxing because we've been on the same patch for longer than usual. When 6.89 hits, I will see how I feel in the grand scheme of things. Good luck on the next chapter! My father paid for a very planned and guided tour that basically did everything for us. It's actually hilarious how pampered I felt we were treated and how much complaining my father did, even if it is minute stuff/the Jewish way of relieving dislike for something (without being too proactive in changing it). i think for some countries, you need to spend a little extra to get the full value of visiting. ![]() I honestly think it's my least favorite city in all of America I've been to. Let's face it, you can't trust a major American city that didn't have an NFL team for decades until this year! Big red flag! Funny enough the thing I've always noticed most about LA people, and I'm sure this is just a NY thing, is that people talk a lot slower...

A couple of reasons, including the toll on my personal life, having to rearrange my whole schedule so that I could tweet at the right moment (and I reduced the number of tweet per match over the course of it), and that's just considering that I only did a couple of event, matches, even though I would have liked to do more. Another reason was that I looked for some people to help me with it, but I didn't find anyone involved enough to actually do it regularly. Props to DearDave though, who crafted an awesome header for it. As a result, NA tournaments were a no-go and I wasn't happy with that. And overall, alongside all my other stuff plus my daytime job, it's something I feel I had to let go for now so that I wouldn't go insane. I still see that as a failure though.

Funny enough the thing I've always noticed most about LA people, and I'm sure this is just a NY thing, is that people talk a lot slower... Yes, very ugly city. I agree. When I went to the Observatory to get a better view, I was very disappointed. I feel Los Angeles has a very assimilated culture where, regardless where you're from, you end up incorporating a lot of what I criticized about the city. Then again, that's very applicable to more homely states where very few immigrate to and maintains its homogeneous culture (e.g. I'm in Newport, North Carolina - very remote and very home-grown culture of people). I reserve the most disliked city to Atlanta, but I've only been there once for visiting purposes - so it's not a fair judgement at all. I didn't notice people talking slower to be honest - both of my parents grew up (for a period of their life) in Long Island and Brooklyn, New York City, so maybe I just didn't the slowness in speech. It's been awhile since I was in an English-speaking country as well, so I might have been used to the slowed speech. I'm a little relieved to read I'm not the only one who couldn't grow accustom to Los Angeles. Makes me feel a little more relieved that I'm just not an excessively critical person (at least about this subject hoho) On October 31 2016 05:17 Ragnarork wrote: A couple of reasons, including the toll on my personal life, having to rearrange my whole schedule so that I could tweet at the right moment (and I reduced the number of tweet per match over the course of it), and that's just considering that I only did a couple of event, matches, even though I would have liked to do more. Could Hootsuite not help alleviate some of the obligation to timings? I know you can schedule when tweets are made. I understand that though about having to rearrange your day and even weekend just to follow-through on your commitments. I'm thinking of letting these builds at 200 million (est. February 2017) if I don't see a rewarding outcome that I feel is equal to the work/dedication. Not purely financially, but it doesn't contribute to my validity for future positions nor earn me any stronger connections with key people. It's purely for the game.
