Hi guys, i'm that one guy that made Adun's Shrine, in TLMC#5; I'm here because i need some feedback on my submissions for TLMC#7, so if any of my maps get to the final fifteen, i'll have a better idea on exactly what to iterate on
Here are my maps for TLMC#7.*
New Boralis + Show Spoiler +
Withered + Show Spoiler +
Botánica Aérea + Show Spoiler +
Eerie Night + Show Spoiler +
Any feedback is welcome, or rather necessary, actually. The maps should be up and updated in Battle.net, so just look them up in custom maps. Also, you should be fine in terms of performance if you don't have problems on other maps, FPS drops are possible in Withered and Botánica Aérea though, nothing too serious, but still, i need help to pinpoint what's exactly causing the fps frops, especially in Withered.
Thanks.
*1 - Sorry for not being able to provide both 60 and 90 degree images, the internet we've got is really slow, so i'd rather not bother.

change one of them to a beach tileset and i'll do my best to force it into the top 15

Your maps are very nicely executed and very polished. What will hold them back in the contest is how hyper-standard they are I think, and the fact they don't exactly fit in the categories outlined by Blizzard. None of them lean heavily towards either "macro" or "rush", and certainly not towards "something never seen before" or "gold bases". I guess this advice is too late though.
If you make it into the top 15 I'd work on making your maps look more like LotV maps and less like HotS maps. With how the economy works in LotV, expansions are generally placed closer in. Most of your maps' base placements feel very HotS. New Boralis in particular looks like something that came out of the post-Daybreak era.
Apart from that you could cross-post this feedback request in the TLMC 7 thread (link) or the Custom Maps subforum. It might be more visible there than in blogs, and bring feedback from much better mapmakers than I.

I don't know how to feel about this

The "these are HotS maps" trend seems to be very common here in TL, and they might be, i've been seriously out of loop lately to regards to meta game. Regardless, this is the first time i've heard such complaint, from what i've heard before, some people, especially in lower leagues seem to like more HotS/WoL-ish maps (stubborness?), i even asked certain mapmaker for his opinion on the maps *cough kantuva cough*, and he seemed... ok with them, for the most part.
Oh, and the blog post has more views than the forum post, so.

The people that like HotS maps over the LotV maps like them not because their expansion layout is preferred to that of a LotV map, but because so many of the LotV ladder maps have been awful, and the HotS maps while not ideal for LotV play at least play out reasonably.
As for your brother seeming 'ok' about your maps I can only say that his TLMC7 submissions have LotV style closer-in fourth and fifths .

Might as well take a closer look at them.

Why is there a Dominion splat in a temple tileset for Eerie? Else i love all these aesthetics TT

It's actually a castle, otherwise i would've put more Protoss-y stuff in there. Dominion ftw.
