I like this community a lot—long term lurker, used to not lurk so much a while back. Something I don’t like, as a software developer, is the websites that some teams use. They could offer more details for viewers, and I get the feeling also support players in those teams better.
I know it’s not a priority for any team, and understandably so. However maybe together we can improve this small aspect of the user and player experience.
As a viewer I would like to support teams and all their players better, as opposed to solely individual players (who often do a good job of communicating with their viewers!). Some ideas for what I might like to see as a viewer:
- A calendar of events for the team (i.e. what each player is doing, and where I can watch);
- How each player is doing in rankings/ladder/recent tournaments;
- Recent uploads / guides;
- Replays pages for teams and players;
- The usual player / team information pages;
- Strategy guides as a more distinguished area of websites; and
- Blogs for players.
These are some ideas, but I’m more interested in your ideas. Is there anything you’d like to see in team pages that would make your experience better?
Or, as a team owner, is there anything you’d like your team page be able to do?

Well, I'm nor sure if you're aware of https://www.teamliquidpro.com/ , which does exactly what you say. As for other teams/players, imo it's up to them to present and market their team/players. Teamliquid/Liquipedia already provides tons of information on everyone and everything.

Yes, TeamLiquid has a custom made and fairly good site (although a bit static). Other teams, not so much.
What I want to make is more of a hub for fans of teams to find content they're interested in, and not so much information about teams or players.
For example, if I want to follow ROOTGaming, I would like to go to their site and see when I can watch an event where one of their players is playing; which events are coming up and which players are going to them; which players are streaming; latest VODs of these streams; guides written by them (which they already have); that sort of stuff.

It sounds a lot like teamliquid actually is. I don' t really get the point of your blog  ; i mean they are good idea, except that they are already implemented here? teamliquidpro, liquipedia and teamliquid itself.
Why don' t you create a more specific target website like the one you are proposing? here is something you might find interesting, it is for sc broodwar:

You're right, they're already implemented here.
TeamLiquid is a community, TeamLiquidPro is a team site that is quite well made (although still missing a few features that could make it better). Liquipedia is not ideal for casual supporters, although it contains all the information that anybody above the most casual could access.
The idea proposed is to allow other teams to also have reasonably decent websites, which allow their supporters to find out all they need, and access the data when they need it (hence the idea of a calendar, or player rankings, etc...).
Thanks for the suggestion on Korhal.info! It is similar to one of the features I'd like these team sites to have, but instead of for top Korean BW players, it would be for their team members.

Sorry for bumping this. I agree with your ideas for a website - you summed it up, but I would add that a nice, clear website design would make it good for user experience. Website builders can be good, but you can get way more epic themes with WordPress (Google for gaming specific wordpress themes - they will have all the necessary plugins included, something like http://www.skywarriorthemes.com/blackfyre-theme/ ).
