It's been a long time since I posted something here. I am still a very active lurker though. I'm a member of Liquid from the SC:BW era. Because me and my friends play Dota, I have been following that more than Starcraft. I used to watch every single Code S, A and even B match, but when you only play some hours of games, Starcraft ladder is a bit competitive. When you don't keep up with the meta and the certain build orders regularly it can be a bit frustrating. Luckily Hot_Bid introduced me to Dota and I've been playing that since.
Nazgul and Elky introduced me to poker 12/13 years ago. For about 11 years, I have been playing poker professionally. About 7 of those I have been sponsored by PokerStars, same as Elky. Even though poker is still very much alive, the poker boom has passed a bit. One of the new initiatives to make poker more enjoyable to watch, is adding game elements to it. The poker industry has finally realized what a massive industry E-Sports is and why it is so popular. I couldn't be happier about this movement.
Poker is my job, but gaming is my passion. I only started playing poker because it was a game, but this time I could make money succeeding at it. Which means that is was constructive and more responsible as I got older. I feel almost every gamer has the right skillset and interests for poker. (Well, maybe not Idra.) You need multitasking, instinct for game dynamics, discipline/control of emotions and being able to/thrive on pressure. Sounds pretty much like StarCraft to me!
As the poker industry is trying to sportify poker, they are moving closer to E-Sports as well. One of the things they picked up from gaming is streaming. You can't get closer to people than when you watch a stream. This is also true for poker. Because I've been an avid twitch watcher I suggested streaming poker to PokerStars once. But 4-5 years ago, the industry wasn't ready yet. Now they are.
Currently I am trying to build my stream. I play poker during weekdays from 12pm-6pm monday to friday. I do videogames at the end of those sessions if I busted all my tournaments. Friday I play videogames only. If you want to learn poker, come hang out. I try to keep it pretty chill and talk about decisions. I will also answer any questions you may have. It would mean a lot to me if you come check it out on Friday as well, play along, suggest games, or laugh at the APM of a 32 year old.

Yeah also curious if there's a delay or not and how much chat interaction that would lead to (I always found streaming with a delay made it really hard to interact with viewers).
So many streams and so little time - at least I can multitwitch :D

The delay is 4 minutes. You can timeout longer than that if you built up a long time balance in tournaments, but if it's a big pot and someone is doing it I can just kill the stream. It hasn't happened yet so far. I have the chat on my stream so questions comments come in on a 4 min delay but I can respond 'realtime' when fullscreen people see the Q come up.

PEople usually play lower than they normally would. I played mostly Pot Limit Omaha last few years and now I got back into playing tournaments online. You play with so many different people in tournaments its not that big of a deal. Also, people already know I'm really aggressive etc from my TV perfomances so I know how they perceive my game usually anyway and can adjust accordingly.
Your the guy who made some sick plays in the main event few years back right? I remember watching it on youtube, You played so aggressive and seems to be way ahead of the field in terms of range and meta, shame you didnt manage a deeper run.
What happened between then and now? Still grinding the tourny circuit?
Yeah that's me. That was 7 years ago. Played a ton of high stakes cash games and tournaments. Went back to online mostly. Switched to pot limit omaha grinded a lot. Now doing Twitch~
