Blogging has taught me a lot about myself. It has even made me re-invent my identity to some degree. I have to fit my wide range of interests into a few categories now so it is navigable for the first time user. I have to tag related thoughts and ideas, binding them together. Blogging is a great artistic platform and is very educational to learning more about the web. I think schools should encourage kids to start a blog and post on it. It would teach them a lot and maybe they can go back and look at what they were like as a kid.

Blogging also taught me a little about search engines. Google wants to hook up its users with quality content, so if you make quality content and can organize it they'll send good traffic your way free of charge. You can also pay for extra views too. Google has revolutionized advertisement.

Lastly blogging has taught me about self- promotion. A secondary goal of mine is to grow an audience so I've been learning how to go about doing that. My friend had a good suggestion with a facebook page. Like and share the awesomeness with all your friends!

My former school actually encouraged us to write blogs in a simple assignment we got years back. Needless to say I didn't give a fuck. Much so because they forced us to use bad blogging sites mostly used by silly cunts.

Also!

You don't mention why blogging has taught you a lot about yourself. Perhaps it's time to explain yourself better? It'll surely help the overrall quality of your blog.

Good point.

Blogging has taught me a lot about myself because it forces me to put information into words. Without my blog I would have vague ideas about myself that I wouldn't know how to express exactly. By putting my thoughts into words I have to have a clear idea of the concept I am writing about. This means I have to reflect and fully flesh out my thoughts in a concrete organized fashion, instead of just little snippets floating around in my head.

Also I like reading my own posts. I think its cool to see something you create, whatever it is.

I can definatly understand what you mean. In many ways I can relate. Instead of blogs, I spend time creating informational posts based off my thoughts. Which is great as my head becomes a lot clearer when I have to put my thoughts out into text. I've been doing this for years on several forums. Dealing with information, discussing with others, informing others, you name it.

Hopefully you can get to the point where you (If you want to) can create great self made articles about life and its surroundings. Or situations and facts. This is something I like doing in particular (Although not here as there's no clear sign of intelligent discussions) ^^

Blogging is useful.
We started in primary school and my weekly blog was written by my parent because no one has time to do all the homework.

But after I went to college in UK and got lots of time on hand, blogging online was a way to contact your very close ones, it's like Facebook without being so "public".

Recently I went to have a look at my old blog and realise how different I was. And sometimes you need a record of the you now so that the future you can look back and see whether you have walked the path the young you imagined to walk

Yeah, thats how it started off. I just figure I seen the same issues over and over again and figured I might as well compile my thoughts in one place and just refer people to a in depth post instead.

Its basically a compilation of points I've made over the years pen spinning. Writing that made me realize I like writing so I figured I would just write them into a blog, organize them with tags and categories and what not.
