I sometimes wonder, more so recently than ever if our community, our scene suffers from a strong case of "Tall Poppy Syndrome", it seems that for a select group of people they just can't resist bringing a strong person, a strong figure in the scene down. Whether it's someone like TotalBiscuit for standing up for Axiom to players for making simple errors (I'm not talking about those matches that were voided here, I just mean in general). It seems like that no matter what happens you build a person up, they get to a certain level, only to be torn down again. Then God forbid they try to defend themselves ala a TB or to a lesser extent an avilo because suddenly it becomes troll central and suddenly we forget just what the hell we were arguing about in the first place.
I'm not saying I'm innocent in this, there have been times emotion has gotten the best of me, especially in the case of the aforementioned avilo who when he slips into his "Character" I can NOT be rational about, that's on me and as such I try my best to avoid the threads he's around or discussed in. I don't always SUCCEED mind you, but I try.
Yet it just seems that in the case of the "big fish" like TotalBiscuit the vocal minority seems to want it both ways, they want answers about Axiom and the team, indeed in many cases they seem to feel like their ENTITLED to them and yet at the same time they seem to want TB to be seen and not heard.
TB has an abrasive personality, I accept that. Yet whenever he tries to protect the team the vocal minority seems to turn into Don Quixote, they start tilting at windmills, poking the bear, then they get offended when the bear bites back. It's kind of confusing.
For the record I don't TB is entirely innocent himself, he like anyone here can tilt at windmills himself, but he does it a lot less than the people seem to think.
It's really quite interesting how we build up these figures only to want to tear them down again....Anyway just my musings, feel free to either comment or ignore this

I think you are exaggerating, or I don't understand what you mean by 'bringing down.' People have opinions, but it's not like TB is in any danger of being less of a big personality in video game youtube land.
I also think it's weird that you accuse people of building someone up to bring them down. I think those are two different groups, with two different opinions about TB. You should also remember that TB thrives on creating conflict (his 'abrasive personality'), and that drama surrounding him just helps him rake in the youtube bucks. Being combative and encouraging people to argue about the opinions he brings out is sort of his business model / brand.
Personally I find it boring, but lots of people including you like that, and that's what keeps TB big, so don't worry
