Fun facts: - There have been 25 kingslayers in the history of Code S (24 seasons, minus the first, minus the 4 repeat slayers, plus 6 times when the king lost to two players in the group stages). - The racial breakup of kingslayers: 13 Terran, 8 Zerg, 4 Protoss. - Jinro is the only foreigner to slay the king. He knocked out MC, a highly aggressive player, by going mech in a remarkable game on Scrap Station. Perhaps history will remember him as the Terminator (for going mech, assassinating the VIP, and having a foreign accent). - INnoVation the only player to have slain two kings back-to-back. - Dear knocked out Maru in 13.4 and won the season. Maru, in an act of pure vengeance, knocked him out in the next season (14.1.), with the help of Zest in the group stages. Zest ended up winning that season. Therefore, Zest might be remembered as "Revolver Ocelot" or "Littlefinger" for playing his enemies against each other - Despite both being nicknamed "the Assassin", neither Rain nor herO have committed regicide in Code S. However, a different Rain ( TSL_Rain) is the first player in SC2 to have garnered widespread hatred for cheesing out the previous season's champion. - 9 of the slayers are themselves former Code S champions ( Polt, Mvp, MMA, Life, Soulkey, INnoVation, Dear, Maru, Zest). Mvp, MMA, Life, Dear, and Zest pulled a MacBeth--won the same season they slayed the king. MMA's Code S victory over Mvp happened in the finals, which I suppose is sort of like slaying the king in his own throne room. There's a 20% chance that the player who knocks out the former champion will himself win. - Mvp is the only player who slayed a teammate reigning champion ( NesTea). - NaNiwa is nicknamed "the Kingslayer" for defeating former GSL champions Mvp and NesTea at the MLG Global Invitational in 2011. (However, at the time, MMA was the reigning champion.)
