EPTThis is our first blog post and we will just be outlining the progress made in our new streaming series "A.S.S" (Archon Super Series). For those who don't know us (probably most of you) we are Nick and Susan from Ontario, Canada. We are a couple who love playing games, particularly Starcraft and we have been trying to start a series on Twitch where amateur players get to play in Archon Mode against their favourite Progamers.
Today was the first ever episode of A.S.S (although we didn't realize how brilliant of a name we could have had and were instead calling it "Play with the Pros"). We had ROOT gaming's SuperNova on the show as our guest progamer and he absolutely demolished most of the players who went up against him. It was hilarious to watch and hopefully fun for both sides of the match but we clearly have to think of some ways to balance the playing field. Another issue we had was a serious lack of participants. The few teams we had ended up playing against SuperNova multiple times, with our hero Archon team of SetGuitarsToKill and The_Templar playing in probably 80% of all the matches.
Ideas for next time
- Encourage the Archon team to enter our Mumble channel for better communication
- Give more options for team registration
- Advertise more often/more efficiently
Things we need to work on
- Sound quality. Our mics are either too quiet or give off lots of background noise. Not ideal for streaming.
- Graphics. We made our overlays and logo in MS Paint and it really shows. We need to get something done to make these look more professional.
Things we liked about the stream
- Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun, whether it was the viewers or the players.
- The less serious attitude of the stream allowed us to both give commentary on the games and interact with the chat instead of solely giving commentary.
- The fact that SetGuitarsToKill requested that SuperNova played a no rush game and then got murdered by mass blink battlecruisers
All in all we think that this was a good start to the A.S.S but we would love to get comments on what you think we can do better.

SuperNova has challenged Hyun to play in the next episode of A.S.S and we're exceptionally excited to try and make that happen.
