Then Kerri told me I could go to the Pomf & Thud cavern aka O'Gaming place to just spend a day to talk with the crew and to watch the RO8 with them. Of course I was not the only guy who was invited, O'Gaming just invited the whole French scene. Some Millenium writers were here, some aAa players if I remember well, nB players too, well I think we were 40 in the place but I did not have the opportunity to talk to them because I was editing Liquipedia during 12 hours straight.
It was a really good experience, I only had the opportunity to talk to LeLfe, a TL regular and the king of bad puns, Nazca, main writer for Millenium about SC2 and admins which were near me. I know it does not sound really good but it was a very good experience. They are really working hard, I think they started to work at 9.00 AM and finished at 00.00 CEST. They are really passionate about esport and the community should know this fact.
I also have a fun fact to share with you, FunKa wanted to meet me because he only knew who I was thanks to Twitter but I had to leave very early after the end of the RO8 because I really wanted to sleep.
Now, I'm going to talk about RO4/2 on the 26th of July. Firstly, I was working fulltime during July because I have some money for the next year. And so I started to work for my student job July 1st and it was not a really good job but who cares, I only do this job for one month.
So I was working the whole day and then I would help O'Gaming, like doing the calendar, talking to Lorning about LR thread and other stuff. My real work for O'Gaming started Monday 21st, there is a weekly show named Underdogs ( http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Underdogs ) and I was invited by Kerri because he wanted me to be an admin for the tournament. So after the work, I went to the P&T cavern, we talked a lot about the tournament, LR thread, TL preview, the big countdown because we wanted people to watch it.
He also told me that I would be the link between the production of the tournament and the foreign casters. And I just realized that I would talk to fucking Day9. I think I was just smiling during the whole night, it was such a good surprise to me to be really involved in the esport industry. Don't forget that I had a fulltime job and I was really tired the first day, I think I worked about 18 hours this day.
Then the following days, I just went to work then to O'Gaming place, talking about TL preview, who do we need to contact on TL to get the countdown, harassing lichter, Darkhorse and DarkLordOlli to know when the preview'll be released because we really wanted the English community that the show would be awesome.
I also had to announce to players and the community that which Korean players wanted to play in the showmtach between NationWars II winner and Korea. I've talked to StarDust, MC, Life, JD, ForGG and I spammed like a bot all TL fan club of these players. It was also good to see that TL was supporting us, I think all previews/threads/reviews were Community news and it was such a great thing for us !
The hardest thing during this week was sleeping, I was really tired the Thursday, my real job was boring as hell and we had to work harder to do a good fjob for Nation Wars II. Also the Thursday, players were coming in the O'Gaming place to train and to talk about the event. I was excited to see them ! When I was on the subway I received a call, Kerri told me that Snute knew me ( WTF :o ) and he wanted to talk to me. Oh my god, I was so fucking excited when I met him.
So I had a small talk with Snute about Liquipedia and the schedule of RedBull Qualifiers because he really wanted to qualify for this tournament. Then I talked to MajOr, TargA, Eiki, Lilbow, Stephano and Dayshi I think. It was a great evening but I big thing, I was so fucking tired, slept like 15 hours in 4 days, and Snute was doing the qualifier and we had to wait with Kerri and Stabillo, punchLine manager and also NW admin. Finally Sute lost ( ) and we could get some rest.
Friday was a weird day, kee doing my daily job then I went to Le Trianon and it a really good venue ! I've done a few things this day, updating Liquipedia and LR thread for starting and following maps, watching the Norwegian training and talking about strategy for the following day and I was talking with the foreign casters aka Khaldor, Day9, Hysteria who's a really cool guy, Emil, Pomi and others casters ! It was a really cool day and we went to a bar to chill a bit before the event. Finally, we went to sleep at the hotel near Le Trianon.
Then I woke up, I did not feel any stress, I was really focus on doing good things things, had a breakfast with Stabillo, Tefel and Lilbow. Then we went to Le Trainon with Eiki, TargA, Snute, MaNa and his girlfriend and Nerchio and his girlfriend.
Everything was okay, LR thread was ready, casters were ready too and the show started an hour later because it's a Pomf & Thud timing.
The main issue we had during the tournament was the patch which happened the Friday night, we had many downtime because of thuis, we used a special GameHeart and players could not join the lobby and it was a huge pain in the ass because everything was fine the day before.
The match started, everything was fine except that Emil and Khaldor wanted me to bring French croissants and some coffee. I think I've done a decent job, keep people informed on the LR thread, updating a bit of Liquipedia ( thanks Yhamm btw ) and everything was good. Of course I was a little bit sad that France did not won but well, it was good.
My account was also the obs for the tournament because FunKa's account was blocked thanks to the graphic patch. And really, you should give some love to FunKa, he was so exhausted after the first game between Snute and MajOr, wow I thought he was going to faint. Also thanks to YoGo and Anoss for obsind during the game and thanks to myself because I only obs a game.
And also, we were like 8 guys in 25 m² with 10 computers running, it was an oven, 45 degrees during 12 hours but well, we did it !
After the show I was with Snute and we had to go back to the hotel because he had to leave very early because of ATC finals. He was really happy to win the tournament, we talked about Team Liquid, his mindset, Liquipedia, how good he was, the French crowd and he's a really nice guy, I really hope he is going to win some tournaments to go to Blizzcon, he really deserved it.
Finally, we went to Meldown Paris, I've talked to some guys who where on the crowd, they really liked the event and it was really cool to hear that.
So this blog is nearly finished, I want to say that O'Gaming really want to produce other StarCraft shows and there will be announcement in the future. I also want to thank O'Gaming to give me a chance about being an admin in a really good tournament. It was an awesome experience.
Now thanks to O'gaming crew, to Kerri, Christophe, Stabillo, JadVidi, Erstin, Lorgard, LeLfe, FunKa, Pomf, Thud, Anoss, Georges, Noki, MoMaN, Achenar, Faust, In Uchronia, Lorning, lichter, DarkLordOlli, Zealously, Darkhorse, Hiro, the TL thread, Yhamm, Hot_Bid and R1CH, Day9, Khaldor, NarutO, Emil, Pomi, Hysteria and other casters. I know I forget a lot of guys and girls, sorry
