Hello Hello Dear TL Blog! Long time no seee!
So many things have changed since my last update, and I sure am terrible at keeping this thing up to date…
But to start things off… I left off my last blog saying that I really wanted to practice more and get to a certain level with the game. Wellll, at least I achieved my goal!!!
Last season I managed to get into Plat finally for the first time ever! Though I refused to play any more games after that, in fear of being dropped out of the rankings. I know the new season just started a couple weeks ago, so I really should buckle down and play some more. Plus, the octopus on Catalina is just so darn cute, how can I say no?
Making TL Staff...
Now onto the big news…!
It’s no secret that I’ve been a huge fan of the scene for a while now, from my first post announcing my love to my first event at IEM NYCC, and giving away tickets to redbull battlegrounds… It’s been a year now since I started my eSports journey I’d say. As of last month (July), I became an official
I am now a part of the graphics team, helping the writers make banners & style certain articles. (Moar Graphics Yay :D 1. 2.) It is a bit of a challenge having extra work to do in addition to a full time job, but #passion is strong with this one. I’ve had a chance to interact with many of the TL Staff, work with them and play games with them. Though the trolling is strong with a good number of them, I can honestly say that I <3 everyone. I learned that kbb never sleeps ever, shiro is one of the sweetest human beings ever existed, our graphics staff is stupidly talented, licher is a secret arms dealer (oops I’ve said too much)… It’s wonderful to have an opportunity to work with and hang out with people with love for the same things, and I wonder how I’ve lived so long without their presence!
Live... From IEM!
In addition to being on staff, I had a chance to get some live coverage at IEM Shenzhen and got to know some of the ESL staff. I’ve always been a huge fan of their production and truly admire the level of production they put out. It is an eye opening experience to see how everything is run in order to keep the show going. I got to play translator for some people, almost got a chance to do live on-stream translation for Jim’s interview, got photography tips from the lovely Helena, got to see Snute eat every garnish on the plate instead of the actual food, got to see Apollo eat weird Chinese dishes & drink beer from bowls… The list of amazing things I got to experience is endless, and I can’t wait for the next time. Hopefully everything works out and I can report live again from IEM Toronto! <3
Lastly, I leave you some of my fav. photos from IEM ShenZhen
