- Your only getups from ledge seem to be stand or roll. Ledgehopped fairs/nairs/uairs can be great options to get onto stage and you should learn how to do this stuff. - Your movement between stocks is pretty fluid! But when you're actually fighting someone you seem to just stand around a lot and try to swing at people instead of abusing Marth's movement options. Concentrate on moving around a lot while you're fighting someone while staying spaced -- when you first start doing this you'll probably accidentally run into a lot of attacks, but that's okay, it's just part of learning spacing. By improving your movement during matches you'll not only give yourself more options to attack but also make yourself harder to hit/grab which is hugely instrumental since almost all the top characters have great conversions off of grabbing Marth (Falcon has uthrow knee, Fox has uthrow uair, Sheik has dthrow anything, etc) Also when you approach people it's basically either run up and grab or dash attack. I suggest you learn how to do dash cancelled/wd dtilts as dtilt is a very good move that has relatively little lag since you can cancel some of the lag frames Marth has when he draws back his sword after poking (to see this, just compare a regular dtilt to dtilting then holding forward immediately to see when you can move out of it). In most situations I would just replace dash attack with a spaced dtilt. Practice dd -> dash cancelled dtilt -> run back or something like that. - You seem to be very shy of going into the air when punishing people. While approaching with aerials isn't always the best idea for Marth his punish game is heavily reliant on great usage of aerials. A lot of the times you're just spamming utilt at people who have just been popped up off a platform instead of following up with uairs which are a really strong option in many matchups. If you hit someone upwards, don't be afraid to chase after them! Congratulations on your third place finish, practice a lot and stay positive! | ||
