"Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action." - Peter Drucker
These were today's objectives:
Well its really starting to pick up now. The Core routine is still fairly manageable the Abs section however is starting to get really tough. Its not the exercises in particular that are challenging more the sheer quantity of them and the amount is still climbing.
As usual I started off with the Core routine, I did the press-ups and raises in sets of eight and nine respectively, finishing off with the plank. Currently I can do at least ten press ups at once without struggling to much, ill see how much I can push it going into the next week.
After the initial run I found a flat spot and got to work on the abs. The flutter kicks are absolutely agonizing. I can just about complete them in sets of twenty but I needed to leave a good few minutes in between sets.
On the bright side however I can already see my ab area begin to tone, so at least my pain isn't for nothing. But I am defiantly going to enjoy my one day break!
The days diet consisted of three meals:
- Breakfast- A bowl of fruit and fiber cereal with a added sliced banana.
- Lunch- Egg Fratilla
- Dinner- Tomato and Ham
- Snacks- Apple , protein bar
So today was the final day of the current diet. The goal over the last two weeks was to cut all the crap out of my diet and focus on reducing my body fat percentage. However it is now time to up it a little. I contacted a friend of mine who is a long distance runner, he is currently on a diet to further build his upper body and he has created something similar for me.
The recipes will be recognizable from the last two weeks, but instead of eating three times a day I will be eating at least five times a day. This alongside the exercise will bulk me out and begin to aide in the muscle building. I have also been advised to eat until I feel full, as it should be impossible to over eat.
The reason its still technically a "diet" is because I still need to watch what I eat just not the quantities.
Now the Starcraft went very bad again. I played a total of fifteen games and went 7-8. Yet again the reasons for the losses were all rather silly I lost to numerous builds I hadn't ever seen before. For example a bio-mech terran and a zerg who went 12/12 into fast +1, with a expo.
I played eight ZvZs and went 3-5. I am still not happy with my build order and style in this match-up, I reverted in Hyuns original build as I found mine was slightly inefficient. I did win three roach vs roach games but lost many games vs Muta styles. I am improving so I think I will stick it out and keep practicing until I get it down.
Yet again the ZvPs were the best games. I only played two and won both. The wins were a true testament to my improvements in both my attitude and my play. I faced two all ins which used to destroy me. But this time I scouted well, hit my benchmarks and kept cool. As a result I was easily able to hold.
I played five ZvT's and went 2-3. Both wins were macro games, where I destroyed my opponent. My losses were against a heavy banshee play, a hellbat all in and a strange bio mech build. My weakness in the matchup appears to remain my scouting. Ill have to work more on it in the future.
Overall progress is being made despite the losses, I just need to keep practicing and reacting better to what I scout. I should then be just fine.
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (2-0)
- Focus more on map vision and control (overlords +lings).
- Improve viper control.
Vs Terran(2-3)
- Improve overlord spread (map vision).
- Remember to always scout with a overlord at 6-7 minutes to identify two base plays.
- Refine reactions to what I scout, know what to look out for and how to properly prepare.
Vs Zerg (3-5)
- Make sure I always overseer scout after reaching lair.
- Add lots of static defense to aid with muta/ling defense.
- Add inf when faced against ling/muta.
- Continue to practice build.
I streamed again for about two hours and got no views at all. As a result I am going to stop streaming until I hit masters and can provide better content that people may actually want to watch. In break times I may begin streaming Hearthstone again as it will be a nice way to relax in the evenings, post practice.
On reflection this week has gone fairly well, my Starcraft is improving and I am now stuck into the exercise. With my diet now also sorted the future looks bright, there are some problems coming though. I am going to be away from my main pc for about a week (yet again out of my control) as a result I am stuck on a laptop. I think ill be able to keep up the practice but I don't know if it will be 100% efficient. I may also abstain from posting blogs for a week as sorting it on my laptop will probably be to time consuming but we will see. Viewership recently has also been on the low, I may change the way I blog quite soon, i'm not sure how yet but maybe ill only post one a week instead of every day. Anyway ill hopefully see you lot soon!
FAQ
Q: What is this blog about?
A: This blog is about self improvement in two specific fields, health and gaming. I aim to try and show the community how they can improve themselves in and out of game by maintaining a positive mentally. I hope I will encourage others to take up some form or exercise and improve themselves.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: It has been proven that your physical well being directly affects how you perform mentally. This of course will affect game-play skill.
