Think about it : we're living to eat. Every single one of our action is consciously or subconsciously directed at this goal.
Indeed, look at it : when asked 100% of the respondant declared they eat at least twice a day. Up to 21% of a frenchman budget is spent on food, and that's with the skyhigh rents and the 95% revenue tax. And just try to live a few days without eating, you'll see it's tough.
Of course, you'll tell me that some people don't really care that much about eating, something about diets. But have you read Baudrillard ? It's not because easting has become a system of signs we show toward society that it is not the center of our preoccupation, it has just taken a different form. And those diets are a way to claim one doesn't care about eating, while in fact they do even more than others. Fucking pevert priests, but I digress.
More or less, it seems clear to me that all our actions, our strive for greatness, for girls, for a good job, for knowledge and for the triumph of ESPORTS are all but a simulacrum, and that their ultimate, albeit hidden goal, is to get a piece of a good ol' hamburger with french fries. Or something actually good, like cheese :

I love cheese! Feta, omnom. Could eat it on anything.
It is funny though, I was thinking along these lines the other day. I hate cooking, and I don't like a lot of foods, so I don't rank very high in your asset standings But so much of our social lives revolve around food. Almost all social activities involve consumption of food or drink. Go our for a coffee with a girl you like, go for lunch with your mom, invite people over for a dinner, picnic in the park with your boyfriend etc. For someone with a limited diet it can be very restrictive. Since I stopped eating meat I have also stopped accepting invitations to dinners and events where I will have to eat. My friend is on a protein shake diet and he has suddenly become so withdrawn because he has stopped going out drinking with friends.
It is amazing how big a role social eating takes in our lives.

or you could just ask the people making the dinner to provide food without meat.

Well yeah, most of my friends are aware I don't eat meat and I hate being an inconvenience to them and making them cook something completely different :/ as they end up preparing two meals. And tbh if I were them I couldn't be bothered since I hate cooking.

I actually only care about providing sustenance for my body and my mind... Nutrion, diet, calories, all that shit i never cared about. I don't give a fuck about what i eat.. as long as i eat... why do i eat you ask?... because if i dont eat, i get easily aggrevated, i feel bad, lack of energy, weak etc.. and ultimately because I know i will die if i go long periods without food...
But those are the only reasons for me to eat.. So even if you try to boil down the mening of life to food, to me its merely a necessity, and i guess its the reason why im not fat!
