Looking at 7 months being in the current relationship that I've been in with the girlfriend. She truly enjoys playing video games and just watching them being played so that is a huge plus. Got her into Diablo 3 on the console and into Hearthstone so just a few bonuses to do together. In December she had some personal issues hit her hard and sadly put her into a deep depression that shes been fighting out of. She has definitely been a major support and caregiver for me during some depressing and upsetting times and I couldn't thank her enough.
Cant believe I've been out of the active duty component of the military now for 5 months. Feels absolutely amazing honestly. The sad part, I was informed per the Veterans Administration that I am 90% disabled from service related injuries. Through medical documentation and examinations it was found that I have nerve damage in my back (on the L4-L5 and the L5-S1), 86% degenerated disc (DDD), issues with my neck and right shoulder, two completely torn ligaments in my right ankles, knee issues and PTSD (anxiety/depression coping issues).
Ive been utilizing my Post 9/11 GI Bill and going back to school now at the University of Phoenix in Tukwila Washington for my 2nd bachelors for a BS in Project Management. Have 8 more classes remaining and looking at a November/December graduation date since one class is full time. Can't complain for going to class one night a week for five weeks and receive $1671 a month for it.
I was spending some free-time (5 hours a day) working as a Veterans Representative for the state just to make an extra $1000 a month until I found my niche within the appropriate career field. Applied at numerous positions within Boeing and sadly never got into the second portion of the company. Would think having 5 years of experience building, designing, managing and controlling Airfields and their activities to include aircraft, flight planning, construction, contracts and the like they'd be wanting too.
I started my own business as a subsidiary component of ACN. My previous boss in the military got me in touch with the regional director who was more than willing to accept and train me. When you think about how much time a day people spend on their cell phone, or watch TV, or sit down on the internet or pay for electricity its amazing. Now I am able to get individuals better rates for the service they already use now and keep the service provider and same service plan but pay less. Past few months doing that has been amazing and allows me to spend more time with my daughter when I have her and being able to save the money on my own services has allowed me to do more activities with her than ever before.
After a grueling set of 5 months applying in the Aviation field, I came across a Aviation Planning position for the State of Washington. I figured why the hell not, pays $38 an hour and I meet all the criteria and its a state job. I applied for it and gave a call the next day asking if they wanted my military training record with all of my certifications and training requirements. They were glad to receive it even though it was 232 pages worth of materials. Job closed out and received a email on the following Monday giving the generic "thanks for applying, consider this your only form of contact unless chosen for a interview." Few more day go by and I received my call back for a job interview (which is this Thursday morning).
Hopefully things will turn around for the best starting Thursday by getting this position. Would definitely love being able to control all mission planning for aircraft flying in and through Washington state airspace let alone managing projects for two different airfields in the local area.
Overall that's been the past few months for me.
Hope everyone is doing well and I haven't lost touch with my old Brood War community and BW to SC2 crossovers.
