I found myself in the bar a few hours ago because my friend forced me to go knowing I'm antisocial. We both get drinks and sit by ourselves. I don't drink but this time I am trying to just get a taste and when I myself getting drunk I promise to back off. My friend goes to the bathroom and excuses himself.
I see a girl approach me, she is blonde and short but has a nice butt in her dress. She asks me if I am sitting alone and I say no. But she tries to sit on my lap. Thinking she is drunk and I am getting lucky, I want to kiss her because I never kissed a girl before. But I am shy and when she tries to get close or touch me, I back away.
Suddenly I see my friend is back. But he standing at a distance observing the scene. I can tell he is watching me like how a human watches a monkey in a zoo. I call my friend over because I need help with this situation but at the same time I am trying not to attract attention from anyone else.
The girl sees what I am doing. Immediately she starts calling me gay and faggot because I'm not interested in her and because she thinks my friend is my gay lover. In the madness I accidentally spill some of my beer on her breasts. And now she was very mad.
A few seconds later her boyfriend who is this big guy is standing in front of me, saying things like "what the hell". I can tell he probably wants to beat me up but I know I have my friend for backup if things gets intense.
All of a sudden her boyfriend grabs her arm and pushes her to the ground. Now he is saying stuff like "how can you do this again babe", "i am tired of telling you not to hit on random guys". And I am like lol my ass just got saved by a miracle.
Apparently the guy thinks that I am so geeky and socially awkward looking that I could never attract a girl like his girlfriend. I ask my friend later and he says he would totally have my back if a fight started but I'm not so sure he is being sincere.

This is hilarious, you sound pretty akward. It goes from a drunk girl wanting to sit in your lap, to you wanting to kiss her but being too shy, to her calling you gay and you subsequently spilling beer on her tits. That alone is sitcom level humor, but the fact that her dude shows up? Wow. I'm just imagining it in my head and could definitely see it as a TV show.

when i'm in a "club scene" or social drinking establishment and a really hot girl i've never met before starts making up bullshit reasons to talk to me the first thing i do is look for the bf.
its a lesson most guys i know learn by the time they are 20 at the latest.
(drinking age in Canada is 19).
i have a good friend who is approximately the size of brock lesnar. this stuff never happens to him though.
it does not happen too often to me.. i'm 6'1".
what i find is... the smaller the guy is the more this crap happens.

This is way off topic but Thursday last week a Muslim girl who looked around 20 was getting harassed by this 14-15 year old white trash kid in Montreal's metro who was telling her all kinds of shit that he probably heard his dad say about Muslims like 'go back to your country' and some shit about terrorists and how we don't wear 'terrorist scarves' in Canada and other such horrifying bigoted shit.
People seemed surprisingly neutral about it, or didn't want to get involved. She was not really reacting to it much but I still decided to go tell him to shut up, but he kept going at it. I guess I was too nice about it... So I put myself between them and he looked at me and did that punch motion where he cranks his arm back but doesn't actually do anything.... and I was amused. He left at the next station.
Closest I ever got to being in a fight and it was with a minor who was a good 4-5 inches shorter than me and probably 50-70 lbs less. I'm a hero. Serve the hive.

Reminds me of this thing i saw on imgur about stuff like that. They staged bullying/harassment and like literally 85% just keep their heads down and keep trucking. Luckily im one of the 15% as i have and will continue to stop it when i see it.

I think I'd have the bystander syndrome most of the time. I'm 'introverted' and don't usually get involved - and it took me a good 30 seconds to move in... kinda hoped someone else would do it.

well done imo. Many people won't react to it as you saw. I can understand not wanting to get involved but I don't think it's a good reason. I would hope that if I'm ever faced with such a situation, I would be able to muster the courage to stand and prevent something like this even though I'm not the most fit person so I dunno if I'll be able to easily scare someone away without a fight lol.
