Well, after my last blog, figured I'd do something somewhat uplifting. As for an update from the last blog, me and my parents haven't really gotten any better, but rather, we simply tolerate each other because we're family at this point. We don't talk, I go to school, come home, eat, wash up, and sleep. As for the girlfriend, we're somewhat back together. Can't say entirely 100% if we ARE but we are talking again, and she seems to be apologetic for saying things out of impulse and wanting to break up when I was emotionally vulnerable. As for the friend, he's actually doing okay, but still in the hospital as of this post. Doctors are saying he cant have much stress on him, so they're preventing him from participating in school for the time being, which is gonna suck 'cause his parents are crazy about him attending school and graduating. For my job, I've managed to get a very small, part-time, decent paying job on the weekends that'll hopefully support me throughout the semester until I manage to study and prepare well enough for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.
Speaking of which, working in the pharmacy has been something I've actually wanted to do since high school, but never got around to studying or researching job descriptions and what have you. I've been a slack during high school, managing to pretty much get by solely based off of what I remember during class with almost next-to-no studying.
I've been studying for the PTCB exam for about a month now, and although I don't know even half the material yet, it's been very interesting to say the least. Things like federal/pharmacy laws and the symbols of what the labels on the prescriptions say are so intriguing. The MOST interesting thing that I've learned so far has been the functions of drugs. I never actually knew what things like ibuprofen or cephalexin did, and now that I know, it's totally mind-blowing.
Of course, studying is never always fun/interesting, and there are always that one unit or one period of time where it just doesn't seem interesting and/or very difficult to understand. For me, as of right now, is the naming patterns. I cannot for the life of me, keep track of the prefixes/suffixes of the Top 200 drugs, their functions, and their class.
I've yet to study up to the math sections, which I believe are mostly conversions, such as ounces to grams, Celsius to Farenheit, and simple things like proportions and percentages.
Anyways, that's just me in a bottle right now, hoping to get somewhere in life, making use of myself in society and distributing drugs the legal way.

I did not memorize a single drug for the test. You only need about 70% to pass the exam. Don't waste time focusing on the top 200 drugs. This is a good website to use: http://www.pharmacy-tech-study.com/Good luck! Haha, I AM using that site, along with a study guide book, written by a Dr. Brian Tuschl and Chris Ardoin.
I'm not necessarily memorizing all of the drugs, but trying to memorize more of the functions and suffix/prefix. As for passing, I would love to pass, but I don't want to rely and leave all of my chances to pass in just the math portion. I would rather feel safe and confident going into the test by knowing everything. If worse comes to worst, I'll study and practice more on the math and conversions moreso than the drugs.
