Hi,
This is my first blog post.
I just finished my last classes in university and my brother is taking me on a grad trip to Bolivia. I know of the main attractions in Bolivia but are there any backpackers on TL who have traveled to Bolivia and have off-the-beaten path recommendations for things to see, hear, eat, etc. in Bolivia?
I am flying into La Paz and have been told that altitude sickness could be a problem so we are going to travel to Santa Cruz right off the bat to get acclimated and then gradually move up in altitude. We have about a month in Bolivia, so the whole country is fair game to go see. I am really looking for advice that the main tourism sites won't be able to give me, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you TL

ok, first of all my english is reaaaally bad (sorry for this) , but i will try to awnser your question i m from argentina and i had traveled to a lot of countries,(bolivia, uruguay, peru, brasil, uk, france, italy, spain, usa, etc.........) and this is what i think: i live in south america and i think that we don't live like other places in the world why? because we dont understand life as you do there is no "race", there is no "good choise" i think that you can learn that we don't see time as a line, but more as a circle we don't think that the purpose of life is to maximize profit i know this may sound a little general, but in the end this is my advise: you can have a lot of lakes/mountains/etc as much as beautifull in the world, but you should try to understand the people of bolivia that is the treasure of that country (ok, in the capital city it is more dificult to see, but don't forget the country is very big) and as always, glhf

we have a joke here about this: there was a argentinian sleeping whyle he is trying to fishing then a "yanki" (north american) come and say: "you should be watching if you catch a fish" the argentinian say; "why?" ; "because if you watch you can get more fish" "why?"-ask the argentinian again "if you get more fish you can buy another fishing rod and get more fish" "but why i need more fish, i only eat 1 per day..." "because if you have more fish, you can sell it, then you can make profit" "why i want profit? "because you can buy a trunk to sell fish faster in the city" "why i want to sell the fish faster??" ask the argentinian "because you can have more profit and even have some employees that work for you...." "employees...?" "yes, when they work, you can get more fish, so you can have more profit..." "and why i want all that profit??" "because when you are older you can can have a some money and rest..." "¿¿¿¿¿¿AND WHAT I AM DOING NOW????????"
