Hello there strangers! How have you been doing. It's been about a month and a half or so since I decided to stop writing daily battle report blogs, and to be quite honest I'm glad I decided to do so. My homework can get pretty time consuming, and especially the last couple of weeks I've been so busy that I couldn't have written them even if I wanted to. Quitting SC2 has also, regrettably, been working out fine for me (my addiction has now gone to LoL ... but I play that mostly because my old friends who have moved away play it). High schoolin' and shit, doing homework, not making friends, all the same old as before really. Looking back on it, I kinda do miss writing those battle reports... but maybe it's just more that I feel nostalgic about sc2. I still don't get whether I actually enjoy the game or not anymore, but I'm passionate about it. I'd defend it even if I see flaws in it. But I don't really play it anymore. Anyhow, I digress.
Oh yeah, my main in LoL? The Donger.
I'm thinking that I'll be getting back into writing a bit of a blog on TL. Definitely not a daily one, since I don't actually have anything interesting that happens to me on a daily basis, but maybe roughly a post per week or something. It feels like stress relief, and nothing makes a modern age teenager feel accomplished more than having complete strangers read their posts online. What will I be writing about? Probably about progress (or lack thereof) that I'll be making in a little project for a video game that I've been working on. Video games are my passion, and nothing would make me happier than to be able to actually make my own crazy ideas into a game, and thus I am making one. Nothing amazingly good, or even remotely good. Just working through to see some progress :D.
So, for anyone interested, thus far my game is basically revolving around a single concept - 3rd person shooter in which you can alter your gravity. The playing field is the inside of a cube for the moment. The basic controls of movement and camera work are very easy and have been make already, and even the changing of gravity is pretty close to being implemented (changing gravity doesn't seem hard, but rather, changing the camera's controls when changing gravity might be tricky). I'd show you some pictures of it, but so far all it consists of is cubes and cylinders, so that wouldn't be interesting in the slightest.
A special sneak-peek screenshot of an insider's testing of camera work.
Well... progress is to come. Within this week(end) I plan on completing the actual changing of gravity and maybe even making a human body ish shape as the player! Or rather, find one to use without permission! Permission is for squares.
Hopefully I'll be able to stay a bit entertaining in these blogs even without them being battle reports Good to be back in the mood to be doing a bit of blog posting, good to see some of you folks who still lurk about. See you next time!
P.S. Yeah yeah, I know. You guys need it. Here, take this with you.

I always wondered how on earth you had the time to write your daily blog and get all the other stuff that needs to be done during the day
best of luck with the game, sounds pretty cool

I liked the battle reports, but I can understand that homework can become too much, being a student myself. Just curious: what are you writing your game in? C? C++? Good luck!

I haven't actually beveled into programming enough to be able to make a video game from scratch, and what I've been using for the longest time so far has been Unity. The programming language I've been using has basically been JavaScript ... I'm sure many programming enthusiasts would shake their heads at me, but I just use what I know for now.

No way dude. javascript is a fine scripting language.
Programming gameplay stuff you can go a long way with js.

This is actually something I've always wondered, but is there anything that just straight up can't be done with Javascript? I'm aware that certain languages are better suited for different situations and how some are "better" in many ways, but will I ever actually get to a point where I can't work anymore with js?
