. Everything about this matchup just feels so weird now that I've gotten so used to my querky old build. Scouting timings are still of course the same, but making gateway units leaves me at a loss as to how/when to use them correctly... I always feeling like pressure on the zerg will lose me more than I gain. It also doesn't help that I was a bit sad today due to school (don't need to say why exactly, it was a pretty meaningless and selfish sadness) so it didn't really help my trying to learn a new way to play a match up...Since I don't have a worthwhile replay to write a battle report about today, I guess I'll just recap some thoughts I had about how I should change my mindset going into a more normal game play style.
-Pressure with gateway units. I didn't do this before because i was the one being greedy, but against 3base zergs I guess that I kind of have to try to force out some units with light pressure. MSC can make this pressure relatively safe for me as well.
-Use of forcefields during said pressure... that's gonna be tricky for me, I don't know if I can use them well enough. I'm not completely incompetent with them though, so maybe I can get by.
-FFE or Gateway... I'm thinking that I might go for some FFE again, but either way I'll try to find a good build that opens with phoenix. I really want to have a first line of defense against surprise mutalisks, and phoenixes also will help with scouting.
-Bases, when to get them. This I'm still unsure about, maybe around 10 minutes is a fairly average time i should get it? I'll have to figure that out later.
My mind is boggled so that's all I can think of for now, if you'd like to give some advice PLEASE don't hesitate to post some. Tomorrow may be another day of non-laddering and practicing PvZ, or it might be a day of no SC at all due to some after school shit I have to do.
