Phalanx's Daily #82: A 2v2!

So the 2v2 that I played was with a fellow team mate of [NACSC] and it's leader, Haru. He mains zerg, but had been off racing as terran. The match up is a PT (enemy) vs ZT. The map that we played on was called "Overwatch"... none of the 2v2 maps seem like they have that great of a design.



So we plan to do something like 10pool and reapers to attack quickly... I do a terribly timed 10 pool, and in the mean time haru delays his barracks a lot because of his attempt to try to wall off around my creep. This made our early attack.... not so much of an attack as it was 6 lings poking.

The enemy terran also looked like he wanted to go for some early reaper attack, and his 1 reaper was able to kite and ward off my early lings.


Y u do this reaper!? Y!??

Soon after my derplings were taken care of, the terran went in for a light attack. At this point in the game nothign like that really should have worked, but since Haru was busy building up a wall, the only defenses that existed were my 2 queens. I had to pull a few drones to buy me time, but eventually Haru got out some reapers as well.



Haru and I try our best to actually macro up, but since we're off=racing it starts to become pretty hard to actually play well.


I can't play zerg, but my terran is worse .

Our enemies also had the same idea to have 1 player fast expand. the only difference was that the protoss wasn't really paying his proes enough money, so most of his probes went on strike.


Seriously now. Give us the dough.

I had thoughts of dong something like going for fast infestors... I have no idea why, but I thought why not? But I went to click on the infestation pit... and suddenly I remembered the existence of swarmhosts! YEAH! Swarmhosts would allow me to simply burrow then win while trying my hardest to macro - a perfect fit!


Easy mechanics lets go!

While Haru busies himself up with something useful like picking off bases, I built up a few more swarmhosts. <3



Our attack on the enemy base was headed off by Haru, who had the superior army. he loses steam under some intense fire of the protoss, but luckily I have free units to start backing him up.


This battle report is hard to write, too much to look at but at the same time so little...

The most help that my swarmhosts provide was actually just to get rid of the widow mines. I start inching forwards, and the enemies just keep losing real units for free ones.


Aw yeah, the "zergy" way to win... -__-

The whiddling down becomes too much for the terran player, who taps out shorty before the protoss follows suit.
