Small Simple Hobbies?

So I'm really really fidgety. When watching TV or streams or whatever I really like to be doing something with my hands but it would be nice to have something at least marginally productive. Not looking for anything too substantial but anything better than the box of toothpicks I cut in four would be great!

In short I'm looking for something:
- I don't need much space for.
- Isn't too demanding mentally or physically, its just something on the side while I watch things.
- I'll have something to show for it. Again, just anything better than a box of cut up toothpicks

For example, when watching Starcraft streams I play guitar. But I can't hear over the guitar for things like TV or casted games.

Any ideas?

Small simple hobbits.

Origami. Latchhook, crocheting, needlework.
I'm not stupid, a marauder just shot my brain.

In Hungry Hungry Hippos there are no such constraints—one can constantly attempt to collect marbles with one’s hippo, limited only by one’s hippo-levering capabilities.

3-d origami or origami are great. Actually, you can do little doodles or painting if you want to do that. Another thing you can do is learm to make cool rubberband/string shapes in your hand :D. That is actually a really awesome talent to learn .

I have always wanted to learn to draw but can never seem to get it off the ground. I've learned different instruments and such but have never felt as lost as I do with art. T_T

Thanks for the suggestions so far !

I second Rubik's cube. I always carry around my cube and whenever I'm watching something or have a spare moment, I just solve it over and over again. Once you get your finger techniques fluid, it just feels really good. Even after you solve it a several hundred times, it's still really fun.

HOLY SHIT I THIRD RUBIKS CUBING! literally can bring it with you ANYWHERE and do it ANYTIME. just take it out of your pocket while riding the bus or a taxi or car ride and just solving.

although, in all honesty, its more than a hobby for me now lol. im like addicted to it. 12.966 second record with a 19-21 second average and im still learned algorithms xD

Has no one mentioned pen spinning? I also have fidgety hands and I like learning stuff, so pen tricks are just the job for me. The constant dropping of the pen can get annoying, particularly to those around you, but you only have to glance at it to pick it up again. Other than that, practically your entire focus can be on whatever you're watching. The mere sight of a pen now has me desperate to pick it up and fiddle with it

I second Origami. I use blank paper on which I draw before I falt it, so my creatures look like they are tatooed and it is really meditativ aswell.

Or fingerboarding, but it can be a little noisy if there are people in the same room with you.

I do lots of cooking while watching streams. Slicing and dicing while Bitterdam is casting good games is awesome. Probably not for everyone though .

Coin manipulation. Way better than pen flipping, at least.

Object manipulator here. I suggest poi over pen, coin, etc... spinning.

It's perfect for fidgitty people, and is rooted in dance and body manipulation, so you end up learning to be graceful, which is an underestimated benefit.

pen spinning is good since you can do it in more locations then other manipulations, pens are still common objects.

http://forum.upsb.info/

^ its like the team liquid of pen spinning, I used to go on it quite a bit while I was learning. I am known as "Awesome" on that forum.

I'd say art, because it is nice to doodle while watching stuff. It doesn't take much concentration either. Painting is great, I can paint a whole sculpture/picture while watching something. Sure, but the end of the movie you don't remember much of the movie, but your painting will have progressed far. And whats more you will learn so much, even if it is hard.
Another, quite girly, thing I like to do i sew. I have sewn countless plushies and items while watching series and anime. As someone else.
Also, it's MEEEEE ^_^

Sudoku or crosswords are really satisfying to do in these circumstances imo.
