Sup guys, how's it going. Another daily post, and for today I don't have any sort of casting or battle reporting to provide because I spent nearly all of my day reading a book... It wasn't a very good book, to be honest, but I just wanted to read it because I had read it's prequels and I wanted to see how the last book in the series was.

So I have nothing in particular StarCraft wise to talk about, so i'll talk about books. What are some good books that any of you readers have recently read?? I feel like I need a good book to be reading soon, and perhaps my tastes may be fit by stuff you guys have read.

Favorite books off the top of my head...

Ender's Game
maybe also because I read it when I was in my very early teen years, I really loved the story line of this. the super-genious kid part also stuck in my mind. I didn't enjoy the "sequels" or other books in the series so much, but I did think they were well written.

The Giver
I really liked the story line of this book... Looking back on it, maybe it wasn't the most "well written" book, but especially good for younger-ish (?) readers. The book I read today was the last book in the series actually, but it sucked in my opinion.

I've almost finished The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. One of the classics, the kind that people are supposed to read but never actually do. I have to say, it is a fantastic read. A good adventure and a very enjoyable read.

Although it's a relatively old series, I massively enjoyed The Inheritance Cycle by Cristopher Paolini.

Sure, it might not be the greatest masterpiece ever created, but considering the fact the guy wrote it when he was very young and had such an immersive storyline and lore, I recommend you give it a try. The third book, Brisingr, is the best one in my opinion.

One book I've recently fell in love with was "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. It's a trilogy, book two being "A Wise Man's Fear", and the third not released yet.
This was truly a series I simply could not put down for the life of me. I found myself reading it through lectures, and coming back to my room to continue reading, etc.

Right now I'm just starting the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

I enjoyed the first book a lot, and even the second one was really nice read but after that the series went downhill I think. Most of the authors choices were very predictable and clicheish (what is the adverd for cliche? :o, clishy?)

Of course the thing is that I read the first book when I was something like 13 or so and now a good five-six years later I've read a bit more than I had read back then. Also Paolini invented very little of his own I think. Maybe except for Roran's storyline the plot was very very much like Star Wars with high influence of Tolkien and other high fantasy authors in creating the setting and naming places and characters.

One series I've enjoyed very much was His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, which I feel was multilayered enough to work over several reading times. Also the themes of the series were more relevant to our world than the classic clash good and evil were it is easy to see who is who and there is no reason to symphatize the antagonist or his/hers side.

One more good read was Philip Reeve's Mortal Enginges Quartet. Even though the series is aimed for younger readers it gives some food for thought for others as well. Or I just like anything dystopic in a steam-punk setting. :p
I play children's card games and watch a lot of dota, CS and HS
