Chippy and Smealy left the team and are now starting their own one.
Why? They're British.
I do not mean to offend anybody who lives in the UK or is British, but in my opinion the British mentality is not compatible with pro gaming/competitive gaming.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I think that there are not as many competitive British players as there are in other countries (yes yes..other countries are bigger etc. but still) or they're at least not as successul.
Why do I think so?
Probably the biggest problem is that British people never state their opinion directly unless they're very very angry and therefore instantly start a fight. Whereas it is quite normal to plainly say what you think without being offensive in any way British people are very offended by that kind of stuff.
The problem is you cannot practice without mentioning key mistakes in a none offensive way.
British people tend to not say anything until they just explode and phrase it more like an excuse than an actual "help-thingy".
Second thing is that British people seem to like talking about something as if it was a set thing already but then never ever do it.
What I actually mean is they are not that much for planning. This is actually a really really cool thing for life because you can just live without worrying about lesser important things but I feel like when it comes down to practice things should be planned out completely.
I am German so basically I am the other extreme of it. If I could I would plan out every second of a Dota game and practice it like 100 times in a row so I can execute one strategy perfectly.
A lot of people say German people are not funny and very serious and this is actually true.
We tend to plan a lot of things and we are not at all bored by doing the same thing over and over again as long as it helps us to reach our goal.
So in a way we're goal oriented but on a very big scale.
If this means that I lose 200 games in a row just to then be a better player I would instantly do it.
British people on the other hand seem to be very focused on small goals.
I never cared about the result of one particular practice game as long as I reached the overall goal which is getting better/finding your weaknesses.
Chippy on the other hand always said that he does not care about anything as long as we win.
So yeah in the end I think the departure of Chippy and Smealy is helping both my team and them as they will be able to create an all British team and I can continue to be an annoying German who is trying to perfectionise and plan everything.
Win-win situation right there.
Obviously we're now looking for support players/a carry player. (Long used to play support and would be happy to go back to his role anyways)
At the moment we're trialing one player and will start to trial with a second one tomorrow but if you think you would fit into the team or have any friends that would please message me on here or add me on steam (My profile)
Anyways I will now enjoy a cool series between EG and Fnatic!
