The Grave Tempest Problem

Hello dear fellow teamliquidans,

since the launch of Heart of the Swarm the Tempest has been the bane of my existence. The trouble is of unusual origin though, over all this time i am still wondering whether the Tempest is coming out of the end-screen or is flying into it.

Please enlighten me and end my misery.

What race do you play? If you play Terran and go mech vs Protoss, then yes, tempests will be very challenging to deal with. If you do want to mech with Protoss, I recommend watching some players who go mech frequently, such as Avilo and HTOMario.

to be fair it is one of the longest OP's I've ever seen. I've always thought it was flying away but now you've got me questioning myself.... lol

Oops, wow, I misread that. For the record I did read the entire OP, my brain just assembled the words in the wrong order. But yeah, I believe the tempest is flying towards you, out of the screen, since the ball-thingy that it fires is pointing towards the front.

If this is the pic you're talking about, it is flying towards you. I have it as my desktop background and have stared at it for hours, collectively, as a result.

Yeah it's a bit of a mind fuck, but if you look at the thruster things, you can tell that the trail is facing away from you so it's coming toward you, out of the screen.

Spiky things on bottom? Also the orb seems like it'd be off center if it were flying away.

The spikes and exhaust trail make it pretty clear to begin with imo. But you can also see the lines on the arms don't align right when it's moving away from you, as well as the arms being somewhat of a Penrose Stairs paradox since what looks the top outside of the arm at the command center becomes the middle inside part at the tip.
