Desk - Planning the build

I'm looking at building myself a desk to start off my battle station project. I have a few ideas in mind, but want to get as much input from some fellow gamers as to what makes a good desk.

Having access to many a 3D design program, I'll be drafting up different designs for you all to look at and comment on over the following weeks, followed by a community poll to finally decide which desk I'll end up making - fully documented here of course.

So what say you, TL? If you could build the ultimate desk, what would you have on it?

For me, the desk would have to be deep enough for all my stuff to be put on it so it isn't squished and I have room to move my keyboard further up the desk if I so choose. The desk would also be long enough to support multiple monitors and my computer on top without all being squeezed together. Some drawers would be nice and rounded corners so my wrists wouldn't hurt when I put them on the edge. It also has to be sturdy so when I put a couple of books or start taking my anger out on the desk, it doesn't crack or break.

By left handed you mean that you sit on the left side right? Is this personal preference or for PC airflow or another reason?

minimalism to avoid a messy look, which detracts from productivity.

to be fair, the desk I have now is ideal (I have an L shaped desk in a corner) but there's too many things on it.

make sure that it's high and wide enough between the drawers that your chair arms fit under it. that's the only annoying thing about mine.

^ This is a must for me. I'm just shy of 6ft tall so for me to sit somewhat ergonomically I think I'll need about 800mm^2 worth of sitting space. Currently playing with dimensions of 1115 (enough for 2x24" monitors) long x 760mm deep x 835mm high if I don't have my computer on the tabletop and 1500x760x835 if I do.

Also, the GF is now asking for a similar desk for her computer so we can have a room that "doesn't look mismatched" so I might need to go for a huge corner desk.

Current plans are;
Having a glass infinity mirror tabletop, like so but not near as bright. Will probably have a dial or something similar somewhere hidden in the desk to control brightness/colour;

Alright, got a quick mockup of the desk so far.
Details:
1115x760x835
Cabling to run down the hole in the back behind the backboard to the computer.
2 Drawers, one long, one short

The desk I have now have some things going for it and some not so much. This is my wishlist of a desk:
1 a sturdy desk, as little wobble as possible so steady, bulky and heavy is the way to go there.
2 different heights for where the keyboard sits and where the monitor(s) stand. most modern monitors don't have high enough stands to offset this and thus end up standing too low unless you have different heigh on the desk or wall mount them or something.
3 hard surface that can handle to be banged a bit (ie not glass or super polished metals etc which shows dents too easily) so like wood lacquered wood or something.
4 easily movable (like on wheels or something similar. so it can be moved out of the way when not in use but put in a good spot when working, or easy cleaning behind it so the vacuum cleaner doesn't pull out some cords or something, etc.
5 being able to change the height of the desk so much so that you can be standing while using the computer too. (so not just sitting while working, changing posture is very good, and standing is pretty good)
6 no weird corners but a smooth surface with rounded corners for as little possibilities to get scrapes from the edge of the desk when using it.

I guess this is mostly practical things but I'd rather have a desk that I don't get inconvenienced by, or getting small scrapes or pain from some weird part of the design. Have had too many good looking desks that had flaws in them (cause I'm not silly rich and can get a perfect in all respects table.)
