Disagree that this is inaccurate. Sex drive is one of the main things that keeps me striving for excellence as a human and for a good appearance.
Ok, I will expand. Maybe this particular instance of "anime kids" aka people who don't meet simple social conventions of cleanliness and sociability is not related to sex directly. Maybe your eyes tell you they are unclean because of greasy skin, and your nose tells you so because of bad odours, but why does your body do these things? So that you can stay away from the less healthy animals and make yourself more likely to both survive and pass on your DNA.
Even if this isn't the case though, what will make you happy in the end? Your body's needs will come in to play. It's harder to be happy with poor health i assume, so it must be harder to be happy with poor social situations, because the body also like's sociability... I could explain how but I assum you can do that yourself.

I think I'd have sex with someone who cosplayed something sexy lolol
I mean: social filtering is obvious and prevalent since high-school. The physicality of them can lead me to keep me away from them.
But right now, I'm not near them or in a social dilemma where I have to choose to be with them or anything. So why am I still repulsed by the idea of them and their fanatical enjoyment of something?

I'm pretty sure emotions are chemical reactions in the body. If so, no amount of logic is going to make those chemicals go away. Maybe if you were to use logic to come to a conclusion before those chemicals were released... (that'd be kind of hard tho)

I like fight_or_flight's response. I value the ability to actually see and understand yourself so highly, a person who is capable of doing this, imo already puts themselves far above the denizens of human society. Working in different towns, of different diversity and social standing, I know for a fact that there are a ridiculous amount of people out there who don't know how badly perceived they are with the actions they take and the things they do.
Of course doing something offensive and owning it, is entirely different, but I do think in the case of Anime kids running around like headless chickens is something that can't be condoned even if they're little kids. Someone's gotta teach 'em that they're fucking weirdos and to remind them that passion and pleasure isn't everything to life. I've known a few people that fit the anime kids description perfectly, fast forward a few years later after high school and college, where are they now? Well they're not doing as well as they could be for themselves, some people just aren't very bright and don't have the ability to drive themselves through life and achieve more. I'm not saying we should all go to college and become CEOs after graduating (which is a laugh, unless you just wanted the title and not the money) but people who stick to dead-end jobs with no thoughts for the future need to reexamine themselves and improve on themselves- that shit will bite them in the ass eventually if they don't. In Kerrigan's words they need "Vision", but unfortunately we don't have an Abathur IRL to fix it with a few strands.
As for Torti's reference to BRs in DotA, I can share my same experiences in WoW. Whenever I run into a person from BR, there's a very high chance that they don't know how to use all there skills, and/or blatantly don't know that it's bad to sit in things that look dangerous (fire). I don't automatically dismiss them because of their nationality, I don't like that way of thinking. Because hey if you threw me into a DotA game, I'd be just as terrible as any other terrible BR or Russian player, because I don't know any better. So usually I bust out the google translator and attempt to make contact, one time I was lucky enough to have someone who spoke both English and Portuguese in my party to explain things for the guy.
HOWEVER, when things break down, and you cannot help a person find reason despite your best efforts then well that's why I value reason and self-observation so highly- so many people can't do that for themselves. Just a week or two ago I remember one of my teammates in SC2 rage-quit after getting cheesed in a practice game. It spilled out into an argument into the channel, with one enraged player saying that you won't get any better cheesing, and the cheeser saying that you won't get any better getting pissed off when getting cheesed. I sat there for a bit and realized that they both had the right opinions, but believed in one opinion far more than the other. If they had only just taken the time to give it some thought and reason then maybe they wouldn't have gotten so angry and emotional over a silly thing. Personally when I finally realized that for myself I sort of achieved some sort of "Zen" state of mind in SC2 lol. All of the sudden I could see my mistakes, and still enjoy the game when I loss, even to cheese.
I have dozens of stories from work with the strange deranged people I've had to deal with, and that's work alone. The interwebz can be a whole other can of worms as you all know. Kids pretending to be 21, not being afford HotS, and constantly asking for practice games in WoL - Guys seriously pretending to be girls with pics and personas all made - Shameless gung-ho people who stop at nothing to try to get some e-fame on their stream rather just enjoying the experience and what they do... and the list goes on.

I don't know why awareness doesn't lead to acceptance. As far as understanding (or changing) that phenomena, I can't help you.
What does lead to positive inclinations towards these types of people, imo, is acting contrary to our feelings and being nice to them even if we don't want to. Our natural thoughts about people will then conform to the way we treat them. (the whole idea of loving someone by action and consequently/subsequently loving them by feeling)

It does lead to acknowledgement.

But really though, there's nothing worse than queuing and getting BRs and Russians.
