ocd involves acting (compulsions) on obsessions (the thoughts)

having repeated nightmares and thinking about something is not necessarily ocd but can be a wide range of things, from schizophrenia to OCD to others (edit: including being perfectly healthy! many people at some point of their lives may constantly think about something--good or bad-- and cannot get it out of their mind, but may not effect their behaviour and may fade away)

consult a professional and if you want a better idea go look up DSM-IV symptoms, but do not come to conclusions without a professional's diagnosis

What others have already pointed out: get professional help! Talk to somebody whos been practicing mental health issues.

Religion is killing your mind, dont let it do that, let your faith decide whats right and wrong to believe in but dont let religion corrupt your mind!

It's troubling your mind so much because you can't grasp what a soul is. Since it's an elusive concept you keep trying to hold on to it for fear of losing it, but it keeps slipping away. Either define it concretely (either in abstract logic or empirically) or relinquish its existence and stop believing. As above, an OCD diagnosis is only available through the DSM IV or a pro. From laymen psychology, it's defined as intrusive thoughts and performing rituals to escape from those thoughts.

Firstly, your teacher lied. You can't lose your soul from thinking about losing your soul, at least for my definition of the soul. My definition of the soul is very difficult to articulate, perhaps you ought to try articulating your definition of the soul?

I'm thinking the conversation about these deep spiritual topics caused you to question your existence and that resulted in you losing some of the illusions that made up your innocence. Before you ever thought about free will, you thought everything would always be managable like the way it was before. Once you understood how life really is, that is chaotic, uncontrollable, filled with suffering and imperfection you could not return to the former innocence. Now you are perhaps trying to place some control on your existence by making sure you keep your "soul".

Your thoughts sound unclear and supersitious. I think obsessive compulsive disorder is sort of related to supersition. It can be an attempt to control what is often uncontrollable. By that i mean a compulsion like tapping wood for the purpose of reassuring one's self that things will be good if he just taps the wood enough times. That is not reality, that is superstition. For that reason, i recommend you don't think about this issue in terms of christianity.

The description doesn't fit the OCD criteria since there is no compulsory behaviour. However, these type of persistent ideas that bother you are probably enough to see a psychiatrist.

I will not throw any diagnosis out there I don't want to influence your behaviour. Go to the psychiatrist, that is all I can recommend as a doctor.

Well the very first reply did state to seek a professional for diagnosis. This guy assumes he has OCD and tries to explain why talking something about the souls and devils.

As much as everyone hates the Internet, you can say the hate is proxy for hate of humans in general. Browsing other sites and forums, a lot of people self diagnose and convince themselves like this, refusing or denying professional advice.

I read a story about a guy with OCD on the internet. To enter a house he had to go through the frontdoor. His mom trying to help him overcome this was inside and told him he could not enter unless he went through the backdoor. Instead of going through the back door he kept ramming the front door for like 10 minutes with his shoulders bleeding and crying. Afterwards when his mom took him to a doctor he was diagnosed with OCD. Just wanted to share this. OCD is pretty serious.

Sadly, all my attempts to sell my soul to the Devil have failed, so I can't offer any advice regarding any contracts or their after effects. After six attempts, I've concluded that the Devil is not real, they don't want my soul, or I have to sacrifice something other than pornography. All pornography was piled onto a large stone alter and burned. It's not much, but I hope these notes can help you should the time come when you give in to the temptation to sell your soul. Although, it might be a good idea to see a professional in the meantime.

this story is like 12 years old.

funny story is, one night I was having beers with a friend and he was arguing that thiefs couldnt wield long swords in BG2.

I said do you wanna bet?

yes he says, why not ( it was funny cause we were drunk)

so we make that "contract" on a piece of paper, we both sign it and then he launches the game and finds out he is wrong.

I ate the paper you know to commit the act of "consuming his soul"...
well... nothing has changed since then. I tend to bring it up some times when he gets too cocky or shit...

but it hasnt changed our lives ( dunno for him srsly, being soulless must suck, but dual-souls didnt change anything for me)
