I don't really trust tourists websites and whatnot, I want to know what the people who live in the city and experience the Parisian life recommend. Anything from three-Michelin star food to humble local cuisine recommends would be welcome. Thank you!   | ||

I can't say too much about Paris, but I've heard that Versailles can be very very nice (even though it definitely is a big tourist attraction). I suppose it comes down to timing. | ||

the tourist stuff is great,but given the amount of people only some of it is worth it. i wouldnt miss notre-dame,le louvre and versailles. the one thing youll enjoy the most is to just go to a nice place(quartier latin/marais etc)and just walk around,theres so much shit to see just walking along little street you do not need to spend 1 euro,and youll enjoy it a lot more than wait hours being hassled by street vendors. walk for a day along champs elysees/place de la concorde/jardins(parks)/place vendome etc,this gets you a feel of the paris you see in movies. as for eiffel tower,go have a look at night when its twinkling,otherwise its just a big penis-shaped piece of metal surrounded by billions of tourists. paris really is a hit/miss city,could be the best experience of your life,could be the worst. | ||

That's actually really interesting. I'll keep that in mind if I ever plan a trip there. I have lots of friends who've gone there but I haven't ever really got around to planning a trip there. A lot of useful information there for sure. | ||
