Good Food/Things to do in Paris?

A few of my friends are heading over to France this spring in April, and they're going to be spending a few days in Paris. What do you lovely Frenchmen recommend?

I don't really trust tourists websites and whatnot, I want to know what the people who live in the city and experience the Parisian life recommend.

Anything from three-Michelin star food to humble local cuisine recommends would be welcome.

Good idea avoiding all the tourist stuff, it's really expensive. Enjoy =)

Restaurants with 3 Michelin stars may require ridiculously early reservations (not to mention they're the kind of fare where, after the meal, you want to tell them not to show you the bill lol).

I can't say too much about Paris, but I've heard that Versailles can be very very nice (even though it definitely is a big tourist attraction). I suppose it comes down to timing.

Well, there's the obvious Eiffel tower I guess, but they're looking for some good old-fashioned French food

Yeah, it should. I've just heard stories about having to reserve seats have a year in advance or something insane lol ;;

Good luck with finding places for the trip!! Yes it's super popular and/or crowded, but Paris is a great city :>

ive lived 15 years in paris:

the tourist stuff is great,but given the amount of people only some of it is worth it.
i wouldnt miss notre-dame,le louvre and versailles.
the one thing youll enjoy the most is to just go to a nice place(quartier latin/marais etc)and just walk around,theres so much shit to see just walking along little street you do not need to spend 1 euro,and youll enjoy it a lot more than wait hours being hassled by street vendors.
walk for a day along champs elysees/place de la concorde/jardins(parks)/place vendome etc,this gets you a feel of the paris you see in movies.
as for eiffel tower,go have a look at night when its twinkling,otherwise its just a big penis-shaped piece of metal surrounded by billions of tourists.
paris really is a hit/miss city,could be the best experience of your life,could be the worst.

That's actually really interesting. I'll keep that in mind if I ever plan a trip there. I have lots of friends who've gone there but I haven't ever really got around to planning a trip there. A lot of useful information there for sure.
