Well this OP will be my 1000th post and i was planning to write a short story about progaming but when i tried, i realised i'm not that good at writing. I just can't seem to get the length and it seems kinda childish when i look over it.
There is something i wanted to get off my chest. Something happened during a game. I was playing solo queue on league of legends, on the korean server. I was playing adc with the team playing standard (2 bot, 1 top, 1 mid, jungle). When koreans talk to each other in lol, they refer to them by their hero or game name, whichever is more convenient, followed by the suffix hyung (means older brother, an honourific word, used by guys).
But when my support was talking to me, he, or should i say she, used a different word. She called me oppa (means older brother, honourific word, the term is used by girls though). When she used that word, i was suprised because only girls use that word (hence, i knew she was a girl). Meeting a girl online in a game is a first, and i've been playing games for quite a while now. I couldn't believe it at first so i asked if she really is a she. She replies sarcastically that shes an old man. I've never met a girl who used sarcasm before so it kinda got me intrigued. Sarcasm is generally looked down on by other people and you only see nerds using it.
I couldn't focus on bringing my A game (which i was more motivated to do than usual) because i couldn't get over the fact that i'm playing with a girl (nobody else in the team but me seemed to care that they are playing with a girl). I tried talking to her more. I said it was nice to meet her. She noticed that i'm missing last hits and getting unnecessary hits and tells me to play better. I really wanted to talk with her more but i felt like hitting on girls in games makes them feel uncomfortable. My good guy senses prevailed so i didn't bother her after the game like i intended to. This was like a week ago and it still leaves me wondering, do girl get annoyed by guys hitting on them in game? Did i make the right decision by not bothering her?

yes.
She wants to play the game. Hence her noticing you missing your last hits and shit, not your personality or character in-game.
If you haven't seen girls play online games, then you haven't been playing much at all.
If you've never met a girl who was sarcastic, then I suggest you hit-up some middle-aged teachers more.

Here's a hint: The ones that announce that they are girls are often the latter. The ones that act just like any other gamer, AKA the majority of the female gamers are the former.
The majority of female gamers play it for the same reasons males do.. Entertainment, which is why it's super disturbing when guys think it's okay to hit on them.

Don't bother girls in game. If they keep talking to you outside of the game and want to duo, that's cool and all, but the key is to just treat them like any other gamer. Actually if this is league try to treat them like you would WANT to be able to treat other gamers (that goes for guys too btw  ). Seriously, idk why people put gamer pussy on a pedastal... like, she is another human, there is no reason to make her all high and mighty. Also Gratz on the 1k post, you did the right thing by not bothering her.

It's because of guys like you that my gf doesn't let anyone know she is a girl when playing - it severely decreases the strength of your team when playing with (no offense, I don't know you of course) virgin teenage boys.

Correction, it's not often you realize that you've met a girl in a game.
If i remember correctly 5% of LoL players are female, so one in twenty people you play with may very well be female. So every 4 or so games you'll have a female player on your team.
And if you want to hit on a girl online without making her feel uncomfortable... Go to a dating site where it's quite clear what the goal is. Just straight up hitting on girls you meet in games and so on, unless you know they are cool with it, is one of the many reasons a lot of girls never reveal their gender and in some cases pretend to be male, because they don't play to find a partner, but to enjoy the game.
