My play constituted a failure of epic proportions. I forgot to drone scout, and then I forgot to make a spire. After that I went back to sleep. Never invite me to a tournament again...
I've had enough of ZvZ. I like Zerg the most as a race. I used to play Protoss, but I never switched to Zerg because of ZvZ. Eventually I decided to be a man and play the race I like the most. Well, it turns out I'm not a man, because I'm fucking leaving. I don't even care if there's a magical solution to the build order poker that makes the match up non luck based at the highest level. It's still not fun. I like micro, and microing mutalisks vs scourge and scourge vs mutalisks is a lot of fun, but fucking fighting an uphill battle from start to end because you picked the wrong build order is not.
The only time I ever win vs 12 hatch with 12 pool is when I abuse a mistake of his. If he doesn't make any mistakes, I never win. The only times I ever lose vs 9 pool with 12 pool is if I make a mistake. Otherwise, I never lose. People use Jaedong as an argument against ZvZ build order poker, but being a lot better than your opponent doesn't mean you weren't disadvantaged. It just means you won despite the disadvantage. It happens all the time in imbalanced games. And if there was no BO poker, why did he use different build orders every game, including ALL INS?
Even assuming that there is no BO poker once you reach a high enough level, it's still not fucking fun to sit on your ass with 10 drones all game and just wait, because you have a better economy but you can't quite kill him yet. So you wait, because time is on your side, but the defender's advantage means you can't kill him just yet. THAT IS NOT FUCKING FUN.

The hardest thing for me about playing terran was getting used to the fact that tanks dont shoot all the way across the screen anymore.

Hey yoyo.First of all i was looking for u in the tour to see all ur advances.I read ur blogs about ur way to improve etc.and i liked.but u are not so friendly in the game .sadly. well wathever. u know bw is not easy game but not impossible.and zvz u just need find ur way to win the game. when u find the way u will improve more in the matchup and start to see the things clear. good luck.And plz dont do that. TvP can take one year to u learn. TvZ will make u back to be zerg. and TvT will make u cry.

If nothing else, playing the other half of the matchup is always quite enlightening. It helps to see ZvT from the other side.

You know what you could always do? ZvT and ZvP with PvZ or TvZ instead of ZvZ. I find TvZ one of the most fun matchups to play. ^^

TvZ is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but race picking is risky and not worth it.

I too thought TvP was boring in Bw and also couldnt handle ZvZ being what it is so I went toss =D!

Luckily for me, I love TvT, it's the greatest matchup in my honest opinion in either Brood War or WoL. It's pure strategy + a battle of endurance to see which player has the more solid macro. It's an art. Unlike ZvZ. Welcome.

TvT is a difficulty only true Terrans understand. Try to avoid it until you truly understand TvP and TvZ. If you can't avoid a Terran, just ZvT. Seriously, TvT has made endless people quit playing Terran.

Noooo don't quit zerg totally. I could understand wanting to play TvZ but ZvT and ZvP so fun :D I myself have considered learning to play TvZ because A) my ZvZ is atrocious, and B) I thoroughly enjoy ZvT and would only improve from playing the other side.

I like TvZ and TvT. It's just TvP that's a little boring, but still much better than ZvZ... I think I'll just stick to Terran.
There's nothing wrong with Protoss, I like all of their match ups, and I did use to play them. But I miss the volatility of Zerg. The low health "fuck up once and you lose" micro. And outside of Zerg, that only exists in TvZ. I'm like a guy who just ended a relationship with a really dirty woman, and now I'm used to weird and hardcore sex. I'm spoiled forever, I can never go back to normal sex with a normal woman (protoss).
ZvT as the Zerg is still my favourite match up. ZvP is also a lot of fun. Zerg in general is just perfect for me. But god damn, fucking ZvZ... Mutalisk scourge battles are fun, but build order poker, and winning or losing with just zerglings isn't.
In the past, I tried to racepick ZvP ZvT PvZ and my PvZ was just so much worse than my other match ups. I'm not sure I can do it, playing two races at the same time. Actually, my PvZ was fine towards the end, I just felt dirty for race picking. Maybe I'll go back to race picking, I don't know -.-

You know what I mean. High health, low volatility, low apm. Straight forward and simple. Protoss is the "middle" race. They have more mobility than Terran but less than Zerg. They have a stronger army "straight up" than Zerg but weaker than Terran. They're not bad at anything, but not particularly good at anything either. Just well balanced generalists that are good, but not excellent, at everything.
Now that I've calmed down a little and the nerd rage has left my body (got some sleep) I realize that maybe I shouldn't leave my favourite race. I suppose I can just be a dirty race picker.
