I've done rap for over a decade. Some of you may know me from doing Starcraft Parodies over the past few years, while others may not. Either way, dubstep and just electronic music in general has piqued my interest over the past few years and I feel this is where my direction may be headed.
Now Granted I've NEVER done this stuff before so this is just a first try type thing.
I know this community has a good idea about this genre so I was looking for advice and feedback...

main thing that jumped out at me, watch your chord progressions and melodies so that they aren't fighting with eachother in places (non-chord tones and voice leading issues, early on). Also the sounds that you have chosen I think could be a little more dynamic so that it sounds less "flat", or maybe one-dimensional is a better descriptor. 2:22 presented an interesting idea as a transitional element. The drone also seemed a little more flat to me, but that has a lot more to do with the rest of the piece not balancing around this focal point as it feels like that was the intention (in that the other elements need to compliment the drone, either by reinforcement or by disperate/divergent elements). Keep workin' at it, there are some interesting ideas that if fully explored could lead to some interesting results.
Edit: as i'm still thinking of it, a subtle mutation or development of the drone could also help in the dynamics of the piece and help our ears not sit into that sound as casually.

my personal opinion:
- don't like the snare
- would sound sick good if the monotone bass line changed notes, or if u want to keep it the same, at least vary it up at 00:39 or 00:56. sounds a bit boring when the bassline doesn't change notes at all.
-like the dub part. talk wubby to me

Thanks for the feedback.. Yea as far as the flatness is concerned I think it is just my inability to EQ everything correctly.. I tried making it a bit brighter though so that has been changed.
And the bassline is stagnant as well.. I tried to change it a bit too.. But not much

the flatness isn't really coming from the eq'ing, but the fact that there are a lot of sounds that share the same features, or blend into eachother, or because they are more simple, dissapear into the ether of the totality of the piece. Does that help?

Yea.. But I think that was caused by how I Eq'd it is what I was saying.. I kind of placed them all in the same Freq range.. If that's not what is causing it then I am not sure... My monitors are currently broken so I don't get the best sound for mixing
