Where the hell is Final Fantasy Versus XIII?!

DragoonPK 3259 Posts October 17 2012 19:15 GMT #1 We have been waiting for this game for a long time. A very long time. We still however know very little about the game and its release date. This game was essentially one of the main reasons I got a PlayStation 3, and in a year's time the PS4 might even be out. So I put up this video to sum up my thoughts on FF Versus 13, how I think it will never reach the level people hyped it to reach, and how long development cycles essentially ruin a lot of games. A couple of quick facts: - The game was announced alongside FF13 back in E3 2006. - In the time it took for Square-Enix to develop Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Naught Dog put out the whole Uncharted franchise. - Square-Enix itself put out Type-0, FF13, FF13-2, and is going to release FF13: Lighting Returns ALL BEFORE FF Versus 13 is out. What are your thoughts on FF Versus 13? Still excited for it?

I'm really intrigued by the real time battle system portrayed (for those of you unaware, think Kingdom Hearts 2) and how it's going to compare in an ff game. From what I recall, the project was cancelled (leaked info), but then two days later the dev team said it wasn't, and that they were still working on the title. Additionally, all event scenes are purportedly in real time (i.e. no cutscenes) so that's probably why the game is taking forever to make. Recent news also indicates initial public viewin/demoing is to begin in 2013.
